I have to admit I am not usually a loud exhaust guy but I do agree that this sound quite nice. I don't like exhaust system that you hear the crack and pops and what sounds like firecrackers but this is pretty sweet. That being said, I wouldn't spend 2K+ for making it sound like this and especially, that loud noise can get tiring after a while. Too bad Lexus could give up about 20% more rumble from the stock exhaust but at the same time, I am still satisfied with what they gave us with the V8 and the sweet induction noise

RR Racing also claims a 20ish HP gain so that's nice. It seems like in closed mode, it is only a bit louder than stock.

Yeah we unfortunately didn’t get time to dyno my car but the rcf they had around a 20 whp increase and when I launched it after the new exhaust I def felt a power increase. And yeah if you option the secondary cats it’s actually quieter than stock, I went with no secondary cats for the max gain, which still sounds fairly quiet closed.

Do you notice any drone or rasp? What about gas smell with no 2nd cats?

No gas smell at all the secondary cats imo don’t even affect it that much. And no rasp which is why I favored this over the gthaus, for some reason after hearing it in person it was little bit raspy for a v8, while this is deep and throaty. And there is a little drone as expected with deleting those cats at low 1k rpm after that there’s none.

One thing I can say is the secondarys do a lot of restriction, I posted in the fb group too but here’s a pics of my stock midpipe, you can see all the heat buildup right after the secondary cats.

Take that back in that case, personally have never had an emissions inspections but some rcf owners told me they still passed.

Oh wait, you're in PA. I don't know what made me think you were in TX.

Thanks. I asked because people said the same with no smell on the secondaries of my TTRS, however I did pick up a faint smell and ultimately swapped it for a high flow midpipe. Not near as bad as no primary cats, but still bothered me enough.
Good to hear about the rasp because I felt the same with the gthaus especially at WOT. No emissions check here thankfully. I may just go high flow so I can have an option to cut them out if I change my mind down the road.

I guess it depends on how strict your state is. Yeah I'm sure there are places that will let the visual slide. But those places are getting harder and harder to find. Eventually they'll get caught, go out of business, or just stop doing it. By the time our cars need inspection (8 years in CA), I doubt any more of those shops will exist.

Yeah I mean tm I’ll double check at cold start, but that was my thinking too in the opposite way though. Since cats are expensive anyways right now I went with no cats but if I ever find too loud I can always have them welded in to the mid pipes. But I do love the sound imo, not sure if you saw the rr racing yt vid but that has some clips and at wot at the end.

I did see the 2 videos for the rrr is500, and also watched a ton of rcf/gsf clips. At the very top end of the rpm range I think I can hear what possibly is rasp, but maybe it's the mic topping out. Or maybe just the sheer scream is hard to capture on a recording lol. I figure the high flow cat could also help mellow the exhaust slightly which I wouldn't be that opposed to.

So, the RR racing option with the high flow cats, would that then be considered legal since there would still be secondary cats?
