That was me when I picked it up for the first time. I actually heard if driving away from me this morning my wife took it to work so I could work on her car.

Has anyone installed just a mid pipe? What would be best for California? A resonated or non-resonated?

I don’t drive the car everyday so a bit louder would be ok.

Thanks!

technically any modification to the exhaust would be a violation of one or more vehicle codes. However, depending on where you live, you’re not gonna get any attention from it. And it may not even impact your smog/inspection in the 7+ years until you have to smog it. Either way, I wouldn’t worry about it if you decide to do it.

I haven’t seen anyone getting just a midpipe done though. If anything people may be mix and matching their mids with another company for the axleback.

Non-resonated. Resonated will sound too close to stock.

I was leaning towards the non-resonated… 😀

I forgot about engine codes, you guys think that will be an issue? Maybe need to ask Apexi?

there used to be all these stupid fixit tickets given for all kinds of mods. the most common one for exhaust was "modded exhaust," which is really dumb. as long as you pass smog and is below the legal decibel level (can't remember what it was, but somewhere around 95 dB) then you could get out of the ticket...or just pay it off since it's just a fixit ticket. as long as it's not obnoxious and you're not driving like a clown, you'll be okay (ie like tinting front windows in CA). changing just the mid pipe shouldn't take you over the threshold nor should it flag for smog.

I believe I spoke with you RWCIs500LE, but no engine codes if properly installed.
