That's a bummer, I didn't catch that.

Per Borla's website

Due to the single-piece design of the factory exhaust system, our optional mid-pipe will require cutting and welding.

@Ay-nako do you have any info on this?

IMO, the BORLA's signature sound comes from their muffler design, so I don't think it's necessary to get their midpipe. Just bolt on Apexi, GT Haus, or RR Racing midpipe and you're good to go. Just my take on this.

Agreed, doesn't seem like there's any magic to their midpipe. Hopefully someone who has a non-resonated GTHaus midpipe will buy a set so I don't gonna be the guinea pig.

Would have been nice to not have to mix and match.

Yup, and a different combo may just produce an even better sounding exhaust; as we have heard in the past (ie: Apexi resonated Midpipe and GT Haus axleback)

Even in the video I can tell it's got a nice, much deeper sound than stock.

Wow, that actually sounds better than most axle backs I have heard.

Hi, so everything is a complete bolt on, my vehicle was posted up on a you tube vid as well. the mid pipes to be CARB compliant do have resonators, but there is an option that when you get the mid pipes installed, you - on your self, can get the resonators/secondary cats taken off. (done at an exhaust shop). I am absolutely in love with my exhausts on my IS500 and on my RCF as well.

They did a killer job!

I can attest to that, my is500 is my daily, about 50 miles round trip a day; nothing. also when I drove back from CA to Vegas, no drone. Well manufactures and engineered exhaust.

One last comment as well, I should say that I came from the revel/tanabe exhaust. It was great but there was a decent amount of drone. (it was for an RCF) My co-worker, who also has an IS500, bought it from me.
