I wish this came in oval tips to keep an oem look.

I'll be getting one for my GSF. I am going to buy the RCF version and have it fitted to my GS. Been waiting for this one for several months.

Really not a fan of the oval tips . For a long time I thought about swapping the tips on my stock exhaust, but decided to wait for the Borla. Couldn't be happier with how the Borla looks in the pics. Personal opinion of course.

You know it! We're trying to secure a big batch of these, give us some time to work some magic up! Be patience with us.

Its all made with the same stuff, low volume or not it shouldn't be 50% higher price.

I agree with you, price gouge, unless it really does have material & labor that are 50% higher (highly doubtful). The more expensive Lexus owner can buy more expensive exhaust.

I am going to fix my brakes and tires first, then check this exhaust out once more people provide feedback.

The luxury car brand tax is real.

Now compare it to what GTHaus charges for their systems (even if it is valved)..I'll die on this hill about their pricing being highway robbery.

Hopefully Meraki can get us a better deal on the Borla! I'm nearly ready to get an Apexi resonated mid pipe+ Borla axleback.

That it is.... its also what annoyed me about the Corvette and the C8 is even worse. The C8 has a 400% markup instead of 50% lol its wild.

I agree! Extremely overpriced. I think the Borla is on the cusp of too much, but I still may go for it. I really need to get my other things done first. My car spun through 1st and almost all of 2nd gear the other night even with it being 68 degrees outside lol these tires suck *****.

I'm struggling with this one myself. In the midst of the wait for the Borla system, I bought the Apexi resonated mid pipe and absolutely love the sound. It's exactly what I wanted... throatier, deeper and meatier than stock without being overwhelming. I do also visually like the stock exhaust tips a lot.

With that said, now I'm unsure if I still want the Borla axle back since I love the sound as-is with the resonated mid pipe. However, I think Borla's S-Type systems are usually more conservative but offer a more assertive growl. I had them on previous GSs, 4Runners, and now have one on my GX 460 and have loved them all.

To Borla, or not to Borla? To mess with something I love, or keep what I know I like?

I think it's more the R&D, engineering time/resources, potentially tooling and not to mention storage costs. When you put those costs as a ratio to the number of units being sold per year it really narrows their margins. You would want to make up all the money spent on R&D and then begin making a profit but with low volumes it takes a lot longer.

Like you said the customers appetite is also part of the pricing equation. They wouldn't price it where it is (or keep it there) if they didn't see them selling at that price. Lexus RCF/IS500 owners are more willing to buy a $1500 axle back exhaust for sure than a GR86 owner I think. But thats part of the decision making process when deciding whether or not to even make the product. If you noticed they didn't make one for the GSF because they know they would hardly sell any, to the point of it not being worth the effort.

From my perspective it's worth voting with your wallet. If you think they are gouging definitely don't buy it, but for me I know how little aftermarket support there is for these cars (for the aforementioned reasons) that I will gladly pay so that I have the option. The worst case scenario is no aftermarket support because nobody wants to pay enough for it to be worth making.

Just my take on it and I fully respect your views even if I disagree with a couple things.

We will be offering at LEAST free shipping on the units which is better than ordering from Borla direct. I'm positive we can do more than that, just waiting on our wholesale pricing to come out.

Apexi resonated and non resonated midpipes we'll have more of in end of March as well. GTHAUS in stock now.

Borla ships quick! Just got notification it should be here Sunday. We’ll see how it sounds and fits with the PPE midpipe.
