Thanks for sharing. I wasn't asking so much about the fit, but rather pointing out and asking if it's normal that these cat back exhausts exclude the secondary cat converters that I'm pretty sure only exist because of California. And then in people's experience if that's ever been a problem for passing smog.

never had any issues passing smog with any exhaust systems I’ve installed. JoeZ on mk3 and HKS on mk1 aka Altezza

that last bend where the muffler should/would be doesn't look mandrel bent. I think dude just got this done simply for noise...could be wrong.

I get that these sound great but I still prefer the stock look of the exhaust tips

100% agree ... never have been a fan of oversized exhaust tips or ones that shift in color. Ideal exhaust solution for me would be a decent bolt-in valved catback option that kept the stock exhaust tips or at least closely replicated them.

I'm loving the oval of the stock tips, but the GThaus oval tips look amazing too with the split in the center.. too bad it's 4K for just the axleback..

Valveless is a bit cheaper.

We also have Apexi coming in less than a month.

I got impatient and pulled the trigger on the axle back with circular tips. Can’t wait to install it!

Still no confirmation as if the RCF axleback fits the 500 or not?
I compared with the RC350 axle-back I had on my IS350 and pipe routing wise, it looks to be the same.

I like the sound and price point of the Apexi but I'm not totally sold on the look yet.
