^^ I believe this color Infrared is the same as the LC500.
It is the same color. The LC 500 in infrared is perfect, the color works so well on that car. Because of it I added to my short list of colors I wanted my IS 500 in.
^^ The colors but I had to back out of a 2023 RS3 deal & got screwed over on that. Shady deal by the Audi dealer. The RS3 was guaranteed msrp I was next in line since a customer backed out then they were like oh there is a $20k markup. I was like no thanks.

And you’d already sold your 500? That’s what happened to me; I sold my 350 and the next day something came up and had to pause my 500 purchase for a month or so.
But that Audi dealer, so wrong... I’m surprised by the shenanigans some of these “luxury” dealers, including Lexus, try to pull off.

Infrared and USB2.0 seems to really pop in pictures and in person. I've never seen Molten Pearl, but it seems so different in pictures. like washed out and not having a candy paint. My toyota truck is Cement with a very muted metallic flake and i like it. not sure how Incognito compares to it. While, well i like lexus version of metallic white. Never liked flat white.

Infrared works on the IS because the styling of the current generation IS straddles the line very well between sport and luxury, imo, with the infrared giving the car an even more sporty appearance. This colour only works on the current IS, LC500 and RCF.
An RX or NX (or any other car in the Lexus lineup) with infrared would look very weird I think, as would other luxury sedan competitors - bimmers, audi's mercs with this colour.

I always liked Infrared, but something about the IS put it over the top for me. I had to have it once I saw an Infrared IS 350 F Sport in person a couple of years ago.
I like to think of it as a Lexus-ified version of what Mazda has been doing with their Soul Red Crystal paint. Both are rich and deep while also reading as a bright, candy-apple red in direct sunlight. I mean, just look at the hood here. I love the metallic flake giving it an almost orange luster.

It is something else to see them in person. I always liked the infrared in the original videos of the IS500 when it came out, but I was adamant that unless I see one in person I would not order it. Always tricky with these colours as compared to the traditional neutrals. I was fortunate enough to see both Infrared and USB (on IS500's) in showrooms and that sealed the deal for me. Both are stunning colours. You could flip a coin between the two. But again, the styling of the IS is so attractive that the vehicle looks incredible in any colour. I've seen the current gen IS in pretty much every colour and I cannot honestly say that is looks poor in any particular colour. I saw a 350 the other day in atomic silver and it looked so elegant and luxurious. A heavily tinted black one whizzed by me the other and it looks so gangster. Even my prior cloudburst grey with strong tint and gun metallic wheels looked menacing and imposing. Doesn't matter. Pick whichever colour you wish - the car looks phenomenal.
My wife says: your prior cloudburst grey 350 looked more like a luxury vehicle whereas your infrared 500 now looks more like a sports car, even though its' the exactly the same car (well, I told her, it's not exactly the same car, there a few minor differences. LOL).

I don't think i'd buy a Mazda, but whenever i see their candy red model on the street, that color pops on their cars.
