Right on, even if the person doesn’t know what it is, the design is beautiful in its own right and deserves a good oogling. 😜

Last week this dude waited for me to pull around the bay. (car wash) He pulled up and excitedly said: “How does she drive?!”

…and this was an OLD dude!

Said he thought the car looked nice, then he noticed the wheel design, said ‘hold on’, and waited to see the quad exhaust for confirmation. Said he visited the area dealerships a few times to get a look at it, but none were there.

We talked so long the car dried and I had to pull out the spritzer bottle. Had to rehydrate and dry it off properly. No. Spots. Allowed. 😎

Do they have the chrome finish or are they painted? The chrome gets a lot of attention but seems fragile (i.e., it scratches easily from car washes - more so than the paint).

Yeah, I struggled for a while because on the white IS 500, I found the Enkei wheels just a bit too light. The wheel finish we have in Canada are the painted wheels with a clear coat on them so the finish is not as sensitive to scratches and the color is amazing in person. It is a gunmetal finish and depending on the angle of viewing, it shows different color tone to it, it seriously makes the 500 in white look incredible in my opinion. I can't tell you ho wmany people have commented on my car just pops with these wheels and for the price, it was a no brainer...the dealer gave me one, so I only had to buy 3 at 445$ a piece.

Another factor is their ease of cleaning...these are super easy to clean with my hands able to fit within the spoke and wash the inner portion of the rim. The Enkei were too tight and a pain to clean, doable with a tool but more time consuming

That is true, they're pretty easy to clean. A nice 10-spoke (or, if you prefer, split-5-spoke) is the way to go. I don't think they will ever go out of style and are neither busier nor plainer than they should be.

The chrome finish looks great when it is clean, but I'd say a steady hand and gentle wiping are advisable...
