Haha, got you with the clickbait! I personally think our current infotainment and software is perfect for the IS500, sans the touchpad. But from a resale and newness perspective, yeah it kind of sucks. Where's @felixcat to say I told you so?

I'm surprised Kirk skipped over this sentence completely, but I think he purposely did it to save for his next lame video. I'll give him that he's had ONE good video (Q&A about the IS500) but other than that he just regurgitates Japanese car news. I can't stand it. /end rant.

Partially improved could just be wireless car play or something, who knows.

I like my system, I dont think I want the new system yet. I like buttons for things instead of reaching up for the touch screen which needs to be closer to be used easily.

Agreed, I like this iteration of the 500. Its basically just the refreshed version of the 3IS that fixed a bunch of people's complaints (memory seats where a must for me). When people talk about it being dated; I like it. Overly techy interiors just aren't for a simple person like me. When I get in my car I press play on spotify, then focus on my driving experience. Shoot, if I could have bought a factory new ISF I probably would have.

I don't understand the hate for the touchpad. I think it's perfectly functional, at least the version in the IS. Yeah it might stick out a little and "ruin" the aesthetic. You can double tap without depressing the haptic part of the pad to navigate around, at least in Android Auto. Plus, you don't have to get fingerprints all over the screen constantly. I use the touchscreen intermittently if I have to or I want to manipulate google maps easier or something. Maybe I'm just OCD, but I can easily move around to get what I want with the touchpad without touching the screen.

It probably doesn't sell cars as customers that haven't owned a Lexus with one will probably think it's obsolete with a touch screen, but I'm looking forward to spending an hour or so getting used to it as I'm new to Lexus and I'm not a fan of the distraction of stretching my arm and body to use the touch screen or having the fingerprints. To me it might be like the Lenovo laptop puck. They are great if you take the effort to learn it.

Looks like the new GR Corolla is coming with the new Toyota infotainment found in the new Tundra and Lexus NX. To be honest, really looks off in that small screen.

LOL its like having a new 4k UHD Blu ray and then you gotta watch it on your 1980s tube TV.

I like my system, I think I'll keep it thank you very much

I do like how TOYOTA of all companies has a 300hp hot hatch! That's probably a fun little car!

Cant wait to see what people do with this little 3 cylinder.

I'm actually not much of a car guy (I know it's hard to believe lol), but I'm not sure how a little 1.6L 3 cyl makes 300 hp without major stress on the engine. I would think it constantly sounds like it's about to blow up. *sigh* Just more kids I'm going to have to mop the floor in my IS500....

^^ I agree, I find it hard to imagine it will sound amazing, especially compared to our naturally aspirated V8 but still amazing that a 1.6L 3 cylinder can produce so much HP

I am sure it is under just as much stress as our valvetrain at 7300 rpm! With new technology they really beat the hell out of these motors and they stay durable. A lot of these motors come with forged internals now, much more expensive to produce but they will hold up to the boost for a long time. They've learned a lot from implementing small turbo motors in races like F1, LeMans, etc. It all trickles down to production cars eventually.

@95bat was looking at your list of "gone" cars. Man, I bet you wish you still had that 1995 Firebird, just to have.

For sure! Made a lot of memories in that car It was such a great color too, the teal/blue/purple whatever the heck you call it. It looked dark blue, almost purple at night, to a blue, to a teal in super bright sunlight.

And I had it in my teens to early 20s so of course I had 2 12s in the truck That tiny little hatch with 2 12s sure made some noise!
