Well, as many of you know, it was a bit of a rough summer for me due to a few personal issues and fall has been busy due to the construction project of my detached garage for washing/waxing my cars so I have been a bit quiet on the forum lately but getting back at it. I am still considering getting a white on white IS 500 if I can swap without losing TOO much. I am aware that its impossible to swap cars without losing some money but just trying to get an order of magnitude before doing anything. I thought I would share a picture or 2 of my garage project in case some of you guys enjoy this type of thing. It is not done yet but getting closer then will need to dress it up and install my various accessories. The heat pump just got installed yesterday so that wasn't in the picture at the time. Notice the wall/ceiling material - its called trusscore in case you are curious. That stuff is amazing for detailing garages. I will update more pics when its completed and the 500 sitting in it, although to be honest, during the winter months, the Corolla will be in it since its the daily driver and exposed to the element/snow/ice etc while the 500 will be in the double car garage attached with the house with its baby cousin, the Spark which neither of them go out from Dec-Mar. BTW - ignore the color difference with the shed in the background, its because the sun was shining on it while my garage is in the shade so it made the color look different but both are the same. For those inquiring, I went 22' wide by 30' deep.

Nice garage. In CA you could rent that out to a family for $3k/month.

Hi everyone, I am just doing an few updated photos on my garage project as I know some of you were asking or curious about it. The contractor actually changed the garage door as they had ordered the wrong one (wrong design pattern) - There will be a few pics so I apologize for the photo dump but I am hoping to help any people wanting to either build or update their garage. I will do put a concrete sealer (or have it polished or do a sand epoxy floor later this summer as they prefer waiting close to a year for any moisture from the concrete to dry.
You will notice in one of my pic, I have a containment mat on the floor. This was fantastic this winter as the Corolla was bringing sand and salt all over the garage so this would catch all that stuff. Given that my garage floor is slopped, all the water would pool in the middle of the mat and once it would get a bit much, I would just pull the edge of the mat to the drain and it would flow perfectly into it Again, the garage is 22 X 30, fully insulated even with an inch Styrofoam sheet on the outside, heat pump and I have pretty much quick disconnect on everything. There is also hot/cold water running to the garage in addition to the dedicated line for the electric PW with the short stubby nozzle.

Well, I am debating putting a TV monitor since I have my laptop (tucked away when not in use) so I could just display on the bigger screen....Next is the mini beer fridge. Not recliner but thinking of a pole of some sort
Thanks for the comments - I wish I had more of you guys living close so we could hang out and have waxing parties, not talking bikini line BTW - Tony, dont get exxxcited (lol)

The IDEAL wash/detail setup! Floor drain is great.
Now you can stand and gawk at your car without fear of judgement from neighbors. And enough room for a second one too...

^^ I agree - I always wanted to have a professional detailing shop for my own cars...The material on the walls (Trusscore) is just amazing, it is water resistant and if it gets wet, I just use the leaf blower and dry it up or leave it but I hate water spots (lol) This is my man cave, I just now find myself in there all the time, I blast my music and just putter around in there - wife always ask what I do in there and my response is ... You don't wanna knowwww (lol).
Its able to have two cars wide for sure but I have a 2 car garage attached to the house and the Lexus and Spark normally hibernates in there all the time - This is mainly for detailing and housing the 3rd car when not used as a detailing shop. I have a hydraulic lift in my house garage and will leave it there as the floor there is flat and not sloped like this one. I wouldn't want the lift to get wet either when I spray my vehicles so now, I have everything I ever wanted as far as garage toys. I also have my 12 X 16 shed that I store things like mowers, snow blower and BBQ etc
