My 2022 IS 500 F Sport - White on red interior
Hi everyone,
If you guys recall, I had started a thread a while ago to document my journey and eventually post my comments, experience, modifications and photos for my 2022 IS 500 but at the time, it was a white on white but I had that thread closed by the moderators because that car was no longer in the works. I have decide to create a new thread with the actual car purchased last week (March 17th)
Car purchased: 2022 IS 500 F Sport
Exterior color: White
Interior color: Circuit red
The trucking company shipping my 2021 IS 350 back to the dealer (they bought back my leased vehicle) just picked it up at around supper time and is heading back to the dealer which is about 4.5h from here. The dealer informed me that my 2022 IS 500 will be picked up by the enclosed car carrier between mid to late next week so if all goes well, I could have the car in my driveway by next Friday (April 1) but if not, hopefully early the following week. In the meantime, the car is still sitting comfortably in the showroom and off limit by people with doors also locked.
Parts ordered so far:
1. I have ordered the volume and tuning ***** from the non-ML system because I am not a big fan of the white ***** and prefer those that are the same finish as the gear **** and drive mode settings. They are simply pull out and push in so I'll do that myself.
2. I have just ordered 2 gaskets for the exhaust in case I get the faulty CEL codes and would have to have it repaired locally. I know there is no guarantee that these errors will even occur on my car but I wanted to have the parts on hand because there is a good chance I will have the repairs done locally. For 20-some dollars a piece, it was a small price to pay for the peace of mind.
3. I am likely going to be ordering the LCA bushing and have them installed shortly after I get the car. I had them installed on my 2021 IS and again, for the small cost associated with them and install fee, I feel it is worth it for my OCD'ness
Other than that, at this point, I am not planning on doing any other mods. I was debating ordering the OEM wheel from the Canadian IS 350 model but at this point, I decided to opt out of that option. After seeing the Enkei wheels in person, the need to have these replaced has taken a back seat for now.
Once the car arrives, I'll likely be uploading some pics despite not being a car that we haven't seen in photos so far due to a few great forum contributors but I'll still upload some to document my own journey. I didn't want to put the specific details on my deal publicly because I don't feel that it wouldn't be comparing apples to apples. Each market is different, my experience with my dealer and my loyalty also played a factor so I don't to provide information that is not really going to help people, I mean, I don't see someone walking into a dealer in (state X, Y or Z) and say "A forum member got this for his deal so can you match it" because we know it wouldn't mean squat to them. That being said, if any of you need some advice on negotiating skills or want my advice, just reach out
...and so the journey begins (while we still can...)

The car has indeed landed, me and Answer are best friends now and we were chatting so I am glad he provided the info. It was so cool to.see the truck parking in front of my home and unloading it, it even had a Ferrari and Maybach in the truck. The driver was so amazing and friendly, I was very impressed and will be calling his boss and my dealer to give glowing review!! I was telling Answer how funny it was to see all the neighbors checking it out through the window as it was dark and we dont see car carriers in the subdivision lol
I will detail the car over the next few days because we are expecting freezing rain tomorrow night a d the next few days will be crappy but it will be ready for when April rolls around. Now that it is here, I can play in the garage and enjoy and admire it.
I dont have good pics to share and you have all seen the car before but just to show its home safely, here is a pic. I have done a screen capture as it was unloading, I have videos but not sure they can be uploaded, but it was cool to see him unload it right at my house

Good stuff! I have the same color scheme. I actually had to go look into the car and see what the ***** looked like! Huh I’ve never noticed that difference. How much were the ***** (OEM or aftermarket?)
I would also suggest, you may want to swap out the incandescent lights for LEDs. I swapped out the trunk (white), door panels(red), and floor lights (red) and it looks pretty savage. If not red, then white LEDs. There’s also incandescent in the vanity lights but I never use them and didn’t swap em.
I also tinted the windows and it adds a nice touch. Plus, when you pop the doors that red interior is a shock for it looking so plain on the outside.

^^ Thanks and sorry for ruining your ***** (lol) I ordered from the dealer and paid just under 30$ a piece but I am Canadian so things are more expensive here but I didn't wanna deal with 3rd suppliers and such. I did order the IS 350 non-ML ***** (OEM)
Thanks for the LED tip
Shoeboy - thanks buddy, it's been one hell of a ride!!

Not sure how I missed this thread - well, I know why, the IS 500 forum being separate now is taking me some time to get used to - but a huge, belated congrats to you sir. I like UW on this car more the more I see them including yours. Smart of you to go ahead and get those replacement parts for the virtually inevitable CEL lol. I have always preferred the ML ***** though since they are just something a little different but the metallic ones do look classy as well, like they belong on a high-end stereo unit at home. Super happy for you!
