I agree with a lot of these. My main 3 in terms of driveability are:
1. I wish the transmission didn't take 15 min to warm up. I want to manually shift without it taking 2 seconds to respond. It's actually great AFTER the 15 minutes of warming up.
2. I wish the transmission didn't "clunk" as I brake to a stop at a red light.. feels unsmooth.
3. I wish first gear would not automatically upshift to second gear (Sport S+) in manual mode.. I end up double shifting because it shifts while I shift, and I end up in 3rd gear.

I know. But that is not a good approach imho as the camera will then activate every time you stop at an intersection, for example, or red light.

The Genesis approach works well. Camera activates when you reverse and remain active (front and rear) until your speed is above 10mph.
Or, if you activate it manually, it also remains active until 10mph - it does not matter how many times you go backward or forward.

For me, I have no issue with the auto-high-beam being a button, but I just don't like the way they work. They get confused on hilly roads or with certain kinds of curves. I've had them flash oncoming traffic before for no apparent reason. The wife's 330i does not have these issues. Luckily I don't need high beams terribly often.

It would be cool if the IS500 had the rev limiter beep sound like in the ISF.

I actually don't like the beep. RC F/GS F have it too in manual mode. If it's something that could be turned off, sure.

on my ESh, the sensors strangely go off at the drive thru but not in other situations when i'm actually near something i may hit.

theres one particular drive thru my car does not like and it beeps when i'm not even going to hit something such as driving past a pole that's off to the side. but i pull up to a bush in front of the car i can get super close to it and no beep... go figure..

Oh God no, that’ll drive me batcrap insane! 🤣

The lists are great and I agree with a lot of them, but the only one that could possibly happen for our model is @Compromise’s number 3. The auto upshift from 1st to 2nd (I think) can be resolved with a software update. All the rest will show up in an all new turbo’ed or electrified model, both of which I’m not interested in.

So i’ll just mutter a curse word at Lexus every time my stupid cellphone is left & forgotten in the armrest. I never notice it’s missing until I’m in sweats and a ratty shirt. Because Atlanta is Hollywood East and industry folks are always in my building, I can’t go down 5 flights looking like a panhandler. 😉

It's a sensor absorbing bush! I should glue them to my car so I don't get a speeding ticket Advanced military tech for sure.

1. Extendable sun visor - Literally no exaggeration, the VERY FIRST thing I did when I sat in an IS 500 at the dealership right before test driving or even turning the car on, was see if the sun visor could be extended. Alas, it did not. Granted, I quickly decided I didn't care after driving the car...but still...ya know?

2. Power folding side mirrors - Would be really nice to have, especially for us plebes with 1-car garages.

3. Smarter proximity sensors - every single time I go through a drive-thru, the proximity sensors beep when I'm close to the building. While I can silence them with the touch of a button, it is a little bit annoying.

4. Phone/Sunglasses storage - I would have have liked some kind of storage area for phones or sunglasses or both, that wasn't necessarily the armrest storage. Something like removing the touchpad altogether to make that area a wireless chargepad with wireless carplay capability, and having a retractable storage for sunglasses by the map lights

5. Auto on/off High Beam - I would have preferred the auto high beam feature to only activate when you flick the stalk forwards to activate high beams, and not when using the normal lights.

That's my five, how about you all?
sun visor……..a non issue

folding mirrors while nice are a non issue

proximity sensors are supposed to pick up objects that are close to the car. the distance is adjustable.

sunglasses holder……..this is an issue, really?

auto headlight works as it should. Turn it off if unhappy.

They work... but if they were any less effective I would want a refund. Luckily for me, I don't need them very often, as I find the standard beams to be more than adequate for most situations at night.

Not many but I'd change :

1. More leather interior. Top of the speedometer isn't enough for a 500
2. Wireless car play - Come on in 2022
3. Folding mirrors
4. More interior seat color choices.

1. Transmission needs to shift faster and smoother

2. thicker steering wheel

3. adjustable suspension

4. Louder exhaust

5. power fold mirrors

All very valid points.
This engine with a ZF-8 would be fantastic.
