^^ It is so ironic that when I got my car back in March, my dealer had one other IS 500 in his showroom, cloudburst with red interior (lol) - No word of a lie!!

EDIT - Atomic Silver and Iridium would look amazing IMO - I like Cloudburst grey but just found it a bit too dark for my liking as with Caviar. But I am biased towards lighter shades of vehicles hence why I like white and the lighter shades (like Atomic Silver and Iridium) so much. But that is purely personal to be honest, there is no bad color on this car

Haha god damnit. Ah well, I probably wouldnt have been ready to pull the trigger in March anyway.

And yep I totally agree, color is subjective. None of the colors for the IS 500 are bad.

I figure maybe better chances if I actually show my face and meet a sales rep. That and I want to try and get a sense of the different colors, check out the interior, etc on at least another IS.

Feels exactly like trying to buy in-demand watches... never thought car buying would get this way.

I was aiming for a premium edition anyway, but I didn't know that base models dont exist at all yet. That is surprising.
Welcome to the club! I’ve been on the list with a deposit at Lexus of Brooklyn since late May/Early June. The Long Island spot (if you mean the one at Freeport) didn’t even bother doing a buyer’s order when I checked. Lexus of Brooklyn said it’ll be a 6 month wait from that point on. It’s already been about 2 months and still haven’t heard anything since other than it’ll probably be in the next allocation (whenever that is) But rest assured as long as you’re on a list somewhere you’ll get one sooner or later. From what I’ve been gathering other than small delays at the Tahara plant where this car is made, it looks likeI will probably get one till late December/ mid January just in time for some holiday specials lol

Not to dissuade you or be a buzzkill, but if the December offers are like the offers from last year, it is definitely not your typical "December to Remember". The offers were awful and no different than the month before and the month after. It's just a matter of supply and demand. And with the federal interest rate hike, I expect that the interest will be even higher this year. Also, at least for 2022, the IS500 never qualified for any incentive other than the standard military / grad discount.

Agreed. I do not remember any incentives for the general public. Have the money ready, scan for inventory daily, and be prepared to ‘virtually’ elbow-out the competition.

That’s okay. I did the math assuming the worst case scenarios anyway. No incentives, discounts or anything and the monthly payments still didn’t turn me off from it.

^^ Wait till you drive it, the "worth it" factor will be even better!! That car is the best thing I ever owned....such an amazing balance between comfort, refinement, luxury and performance.

All of this.

As much as I love the ML system, half the time it’s turned off. The V8’s soundtrack is everything.

We recently had to drive home 125 miles in the middle of the night and the radio was off the whole time. The purr of that V8 kept me awake the whole time with ease!

it doesn't look like this link works anymore. I just tried using it to track a nx350 allocated to me. Any other ideas on how to track it?

I found this as I was helping my cousin get the status on his GR86 allocation and I tested it on a Lexus vin and it works flawlessly as expected.

Toyota <- this link opens a webpage but go to the address and replace "VINnumber" with the actual vin for your car given to you by your dealer
Right click in your browser and choose inspect (some have said hit F12 to do the same)
Page is split with new info on the right (you can move the divider to make the left smaller and show more of the right side)
go to the network tab at the top of the page on the right
Refresh the page
In the ‘All’ or ‘Fetch/XHR’ tabs find the VIN on the left
Select the VIN on the left
On the right scroll to see status and ETA's.

dealerCategory: A= allocated F= freight G= ground
A means it’s anywhere from leaving Japan to sitting at the US port
F means it is on a train or truck
G means it is pretty much at the dealer

I would also like to add that this tool will even go as far as telling you if a certain vehicle is pre-sold, potentially even avoiding calls to dealers that show cars on their websites that are actually pre-sold to a customer.

This same page will also generate the build sheets that many of us have received from our sales people. Hope this helps anyone that has a car in transit.
