Default The V8 is back: IS 500 F SPORT Performance. Part 2 2022 Sales & Delivery Discussions

Hi all,

Our massive 7000+ post thread that was started when the IS500 was announced has grown too large to manage with our database, and moderators get severe errors when editing the thread. I've noted previously that we were going to need to close it down soon and that day has arrived.

I'm starting this new thread not fully as a replacement, but as a place for ongoing sales, pricing and delivery discussions and ask members to please start discrete new threads (or reply to existing threads) in the IS500 subforum for other topics. This approach allows us to build up a base of individual topics that can be much better searched, indexed and added to FAQs for our members to find to become better informed owners and buyers.

I do know everyone likes the old chat thread and hate to shut it down, but unfortunately it's size has made it unmanageable and appreciate your understanding.

Wish I could say I planned this, but made the mistake of checking my IS’s recent fuel economy earlier today …

I guess a good way to start this thread is by sharing an ability to get the status on an in-transit vehicle without having to rely on our useless sales people. Oh what I would've given to have had this resource available when we were waiting for cars. I found this as I was helping my cousin get the status on his GR86 allocation and I tested it on a Lexus vin and it works flawlessly as expected.

Toyota <- this link opens a webpage but go to the address and replace "VINnumber" with the actual vin for your car given to you by your dealer
Right click in your browser and choose inspect (some have said hit F12 to do the same)
Page is split with new info on the right (you can move the divider to make the left smaller and show more of the right side)
go to the network tab at the top of the page on the right
Refresh the page
In the ‘All’ or ‘Fetch/XHR’ tabs find the VIN on the left
Select the VIN on the left
On the right scroll to see status and ETA's.

dealerCategory: A= allocated F= freight G= ground
A means it’s anywhere from leaving Japan to sitting at the US port
F means it is on a train or truck
G means it is pretty much at the dealer

I would also like to add that this tool will even go as far as telling you if a certain vehicle is pre-sold, potentially even avoiding calls to dealers that show cars on their websites that are actually pre-sold to a customer.

This same page will also generate the build sheets that many of us have received from our sales people. Hope this helps anyone that has a car in transit.

If you are putting your vin in, it will say that. Your car was delivered months ago and no longer shows up on the Dealer Daily system. That link is essentially querying the Dealer Daily system without a login. This is only good for in transit or unsold vehicles sitting on lots currently.

Hey folks,

I'm a little late to the game but what are the chances of getting an IS 500 now?

They are out there, some at MSRP, most probably over.

Contact Shannon Brown of Eskridge Lexus, at (405) 755-9000 in OKC. They sell at MSRP which was worth the trip for me. And they have mad access to vehicles.

Thanks for the lead. I called my local dealer and they aren't even taking orders.

Let's see if I can get a Ultrasonic Mica Blue with a black interior!

No, contact Adrian Nevarez at Lexus of Santa Fe! He will hook you up with a Ultrasonic Blue @ MSRP.
