I saw this video posted from Japan today, previewing their 2023 IS500 First Edition. If you look carefully, it has the same beginnings of "front apron separation" that we have on our 2022 cars, that is, a narrow gap near the wheels that gets slightly wider towards the headlight.

Let's hope that means if it starts happening a lot there, they will make a fix for it.

Those are probably "pre-production" car so they are simply a carry-over from the production methods and parts from 2022, so that's actually a "good news" if they also have the issue! Just hoping they don't fix it before "mass" production so it gets correctly acknowledged.

Few things when i looked at that video...

1. Mirrors are all black
2. The BBS rather than Enkei wheels
3. What a wheel gap, like wtf!?

Just noticed this too now. Weird. It's like the front is raised.

The rear isn't any better.

Makes me wonder if there were shipping blocks or something like that left in the suspension?

Hey everyone! Hope your week is going good so far. My dealer got back to me in regards to my small apron separation.

"Lexus is aware of this issue and is working to come up with a long-term solution to this problem. If the guest wants an immediate fix, we can replace the clips behind the bumper. However, beyond this, we will have to wait until a long-term fix is available."

My dealership said they can fix it now but cannot guarantee the issue will go away and so they recommended we wait for a permanent fix from Lexus HQ.

Hope this helps?

Thanks!

-Chris

Great news, gives me hope that Lexus will do something about it.

Just fyi, my dealer replaced the clips on my car. Did not make any difference. Waste of time. The problem is NOT with the clips.

^^ The problem is that if your dealer put back the same clips as currently designed, obviously the problem would not be solved. We have to wait to see if they will determine that it is a badly designed clip and will provide a replacement part that is properly design to hold teh bumper in place or whether it is something else altogether. That is why I am holding tight and not let the dealer touch my bumper UFN but I am encouraged by the post that ChrisIS500 submitted.

Ever since this thread, I notice a lot of old cars with front bumpers falling off in the same place. It's actually pretty common I guess.

that wheel gap is almost like the AWD wheel gap on the IS

all black mirrors and bbs in two colors on “first edition” which seems to come in at least a couple colors.
