That solves it lol. It definitely looks different than what we got in the US though. Good find!

So in the "configurator simulator" (lol) it seems like the First Edition is available in any exterior color? And also only the red and blue paint charge an extra 165,000 yen?

Jesus, an extra $1200 for the paint. I've really never understood how even after shipping half way across the world, JDM cars are cheaper here than basically anywhere in the world.

I'm surprised they didn't offer flare yellow. That's a fun color.

But yeah, it's weird how you can order the First Edition in any color. That would make the black/orange wood trim and suede interior the only thing that makes it a First Edition. Just bizarre.

And If I have to get the orange trim to get a First Edition then it s a bigggggg no no for me. It doesn't match any exterior or interior color at all. Maybe if they offered it in Cadmium Orange (which is another gorgeous color that they should do in conjunction with flare yellow)

Also, good catch @Hoshigaoka on the clock trim. I felt like something was off in that area but I wouldn't quite pinpoint what it was. Truthfully, I'm not too sure how I feel about that specific change. It doesn't really match considering the window switch trim is a bright aluminum color. It seems the old color would match better in that regards.

I went ahead and translated the Dealer Options PDF for all us English speaking folks. Interestingly, they also developed F Sport Performance carpets that have the correct color combination on the logo.

Unfortunately no. It is a dealer installed option to replace the standard remote. This option has been offered in years prior for the JDM market. If you check the owners manual that is posted at one of the earlier links, you can see that they are still using the same key fob design and card key design.

So is it 46,200 yen for the transmission cooler but 60,500 yen for the brake pads? That comes out to about $340 USD for the transmission cooler, which seems reasonable especially when compared to having to spend $100 more for the brake pads.

  • No new infotainment
  • Black Enkeis
  • Ugly IS350 special edition

Regarding the new wood finish, I’ll say it is definitely not my cup of tea. If there was an orange interior like on the LC500, maybeeee. But not with the interior color options the IS offers

Playing with the configurator some more, I found some cool things:
  • In Japan at least, all interior colors are offered in both Nuluxe and Leather options
  • It seems that the gloss black from the radio area has been replaced to match the brush metal finish of the RC. Not sure how I feel about that one.

So I keep finding new things lol:
In terms of accessories, Lexus has developed new F Sport Performance accessories with an inverted color scheme compared to the regular F Sport counterpart. I wonder if we will get these in the US. Japan has had puddle lights for a while but we haven’t gotten them.

In terms of other features, up until now (I will keep checking lol) I only found two new features:
  1. there is now a light coming from the the area of the SOS button that is meant to illuminate the cup holders at night. Toyota has done this before with other models such as the Kruger / Highlander.
  2. There is a new “pop up hood” that pops up the back of the hood when the front sensors detect that you have struck a pedestrian. This may or may not be a new feature but I don’t recall seeing it before. Only one way to find out….. who wants to jump in front of my car?
bear in mind, some of these things may be regional and may never make their way to our side of the world

I'd say that's a Japan only thing. Lots of pedestrian traffic over there with narrow roads. They actually care about pedestrians there lol
