One atlanta dealer told me it would take 2 months to build and my main one (hennessy of atlanta) said they dont know when they are going to be available to order.

If 2023 goes anything like 2022, that means that dealers have no clue what is going on with this car.

yup, no clue and no choice. they get what they get and someone will scoop it up. now some have been lucky but had to travel to other states to get something close to what they wanted, but that's what has to be done if their local dealer doesn't get an order that was submitted.

My advice for those of you who want this car in 2023:

1. Cast your net far and wide. 1 deposit probably isn't enough.

2. Have your cash ready to go in your checking account.

3. Have a travel bag ready. A plane ticket may cost less than a local dealer's markup.

4. Be on this forum all the time when they start landing. Some of us post availability for fun and the difference between you getting the car or not could be a couple of minutes.

For what its worth JM Lexus in South Florida just told me that they won't be made for a while because of the fuel pump issues. I'm not buying it. Over the years JM has proven to be nothing but inept in all my dealings.

Can corroborate this statement. JM would not budge in a $10k markup for the LE. The girl on the phone was about as rude as I've ever experienced in a business transaction, especially a $70k+ proposition! Needless to say, I was able to get my LE at MSRP at another dealer. I have already contacted that dealer about a '23...good business means more business.

I can't say for sure. But I got on a list. Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

It's way too early for 2023's right now. Dealers don't know anything until the last minute. And even if they did, they're only interested in selling what's on their lot, not what's coming. It doesn't make sense to cancel your deposit yet.

Remember it's just a job for most of them. They're not enthusiasts like us, so expect to almost always know more than they do.

I truly can't say I've ever had a good experience with them. I've contacted them 3 times about purchasing a car either for myself or a family member and they always say they don't know and they'll let know when they do, but they never ever do. I even figured I'd give them a shot for service one time and I did my break in oil change with them and not only were they annoyed that I took my car in with 700 miles, but they also didn't report it to Carfax. When I asked why it wasn't reported, they said that they don't report any services as "a way of protecting the customer". I see literally no protection at all for the customer by not reporting a service performed.

According to the Lexus.JP website, 2023 IS Production started in August so the cars should start hitting the US dealers around October. However, this does not mean that IS500s were a part of the initial production. They may be delayed a bit.
