It’s frustrating to see the marked up prices not come down on these things even a little despite constant assurances from various Youtubers that they’ll ‘crash’.

ahh Zach and Ray. Been watching them when Zach was in his apartment. Quality site and good place to track pricing. I think all the crash talk is click bait. Mark ups for IS500 seem even more prevalent than the 2022’s.

Me too, very informative. Their hidden dealer fees videos helped immensely to weed out the bad folks. My gut feeling was generally spot on, but I liked knowing what questions to pose to validate my gut’s negative reaction.

Looks like Darcars in CT is getting a large shipment of 500's in. Mostly neutral colors though.

Also, if these dealerships could figure out some uniformity on nomenclature, that would be GREAT!

Some bunch the IS's together, which is fine. But other's have no continuity (350's fall under 350 and plain IS). Others can't create a proper cylinder filter (Darcars lists some 350's under 8 Cylinders), since they don't properly label the trim levels. Maybe their markups are needed to fund some website developers.

Just gave the dealer a call and the floor salesman said they don’t have any allocations for 500s, only 300/350s. Which lines up with the pricing on their site for these cars listed, but still kinda odd along with the complete mess of options and cylinder counts.

Edit: Added the VINs to my Lexus account to check and they are all V6s

I’ve spoken with 3 different dealers (my local one, another in-state, and one several hours away that I used for my last purchase). I reached out at end of August. All three were very nice, took my information, have kept in touch but none have received any allocations and would not be able to accept any deposit down until they receive allocation. The out-of-state one told me he likely wouldn’t know anything until first of November.

Obviously I’m not super hopeful, feels like entering a drawing.

I hope this means that the tristate area will get some of that big batch spread around. Here’s to hoping!

Toyota completely reworked the tool and now it doesn't let you enter a random vin to pull up the specs. The car needs to be added to your garage to be able to see the specs.

While helpful this tool is very limited. It just tells you what model it is. It does not give you specific information for the vehicle, such as what options are on the car

don’t disagree it has limitations, was just showing them where it was located in response to the question.

It’s free, you get what you pay for

so just to be clear, if $20k is not a big deal to someone and can pay the note with no issues, this makes them an idiot? obviously, they were smart enough to have a career to where $20k was no sweat to them. Look at where the car was bought...it was bought in newport. 2 LEs were sold for $25 over in valencia...no surprise there either. if the person that wanted that vehicle really wanted it at msrp, then they would've done the leg work. so because they didn't buy it as msrp, does this also make them lazy as well? just trying to figure out your logic. i agree, paying the amount for that vehicle may not make sense, but i'm not calling that customer an idiot.

Wealth befalls many that are mentally challenged with no actual skill or contribution to society, like influencers, celebrities, and I might add some politicians. So yes, someone can make poor life decisions while having a lot of money, and that would still make you an idiot.
