Yup, I don't mind this colour at all. When I went into the showroom to see the red IS500 I actually got distracted (just for a millisecond, LOL) by the copper RX behind it.

Second thing bothers me the most: the LEXUS spelled out in the back instead of the L Emblem. This is one of the worst trends on new cars, esp for Lexus. The Lexus logo is one of the most recognizable and elegant logo in car history.
I have to agree, the new ‘Spindle Body’ is kind of awkward. I hope it doesn’t become a thing, but it seems to match the EV design language coming down the pike.

The word Lexus spelled out is terrible, I worked super hard professionally and I want the symbol of success on the front and back. Yet another reason I wanted the IS 500, I assumed the 4th Gen will not have the rear emblem.

Portland now showing two IS500s with 3k ADM. Not even two weeks ago the same cars were listed without an ADM line item at MSRP. Not sure if they're being more transparent or if they're getting lots of inquiries and raising the price.

It is interesting to see the MSRP in Canada for the 2023 IS 500.....When I bought mine last year, the MSRP was 72 900$ (Cdn) but this year, it is now 77 573.50$ which I am not sure how they came up with the 0.50$ which is insane, I am sure a customer can negotiate that out (lol). That being said, I know that they added the sunroof this year so that factors in the price increase but I decided to not proceed with the 2023 because I have actually come to love and appreciate my red interior (although had I been able to get a white last year, I would have still gotten it), and I have mixed feeling on the roof. Visually, I like the look of the darker portion on the white roof but from a practicality, I rarely used it in Canada and most importantly, I like the addition headroom that the no sunroof gives me. Given that I am building a massive detailing garage this spring, I find it hard to justify losing ~3900$ (tax included) on my 2022 and then also adding ~4675 (+ tax) for a net difference of about ~9200$ just to get a sunroof and different interior color. Then I have to deal with swapping my wheels again (reinstall the tires on my Enkei wheels) and order new LCA bushings and such....

Also, the interest rates are now insane - Lexus is offering 7.7% on a 48 month lease and 6.9% on a 60 month finance!! I wouldn't be leasing anyway but I was able to get 0% on my 2021 IS 350 Lease so shows how much things have changed. I purchased my 2022 IS 500 cash so I never paid interest and just repaying myself back over 5 years (about 4 years to go) but I wouldn't want to be financing this kind of purchase at these rates, yikes!

So bottom line, I will not be adding to the 2023 sales number but it was fun entertaining the idea - Now I just have to hope the snow will melt fast in August (at the rate winter is going) because with temperatures of -26F with a wind chill of -58F!! (and Answer knows all too well as he will get it too on Friday), I doubt we'll melt our snow. Given the fact I am tall and slim, I think I'll be known as the walking Popsicle.....(lol)

Throwin in the towel, eh? It's the right decision if you can't really break even. $9200 for a sunroof and white interior isn't smart. Good call.

I got my IS500 at 2.9% financing in Jan 2022. I'm glad I didn't fully pay it off yet because I'm making more in a high yield savings account currently. In retrospect I shouldve financed the entire thing, as I would've come out a couple thousand ahead, but at the time stock market was about to bomb and high yield interest rates were still 0.5%.

^^ Thanks, yeah, it is tough to walk away but I have to do it smart this time and where I have this big project coming up, the savings can be put to good use. I mean I can always get a can of white spray paint and get a hacksaw and go to town and make a panoramic roof (lol)

In all seriousness, thanks for validating that I was making the right decision

Brrr! 🥶🥶

I had to turn up the heat after reading this! How on earth do y’all survive that madness?!

I agree, the interest rates are so freaking insane right now. I’m glad you’re keeping the Circuit Red! 🔥🤘🏽

Can't say I wouldn't be tempted to trade in if there was a way for not netting any loss and being able to get the darkened enkeis. But I'm also weirdly sentimental, almost like a "this is my IS 500. There are many others like it, but this one is mine" kinda thing.

Right on. We 2022’ers have a serious tale to tell on the ups and downs and triumphs of getting this car. We went through hell, so yeah the sentimental value is through the roof.

2023 owner here and gotta say I’ve been looking to get one since October of 2021. The struggle was real!
