A too clean engine bay is a total rookie blunder. Unless there's a decent amount of dust on everything, I'm going to assume you've "cleaned" the engine, with something wet. That's a big mistake and leads to component failure. I wouldn't buy a car with a spotless engine. The guys who powerwash their engine bay are the worst.

I am in the middle of @arentz07 & @wthrman2 . I will drive mine at every opportunity, but I avoid potholes, puddles, and rarely…if ever…drive it in the rain. (Or if temps are below 40 degrees.)
In most instances, I’ll do a quick detail before exiting the garage. My car has been spotted everywhere and posted online, so he must be camera ready at all times! #BlueCrew 😎🤘🏽

I detail my engine bay with a buck of warm water and a damp cloth that I will try and clean as much as possible every nooks and crannies....What I can't get from teh top, I get from underneath by placing the car on teh lift and raising it giving me access from underneath

Been thinking about economics a little and come to the conclusion once again that the IS500 is a steal of a price in today's cars. In 2008-2012 the IS F was $57-61k which adjusted for inflation is $74-78k. Working backwards the IS500 @ $62000 wouldve been $45k. Was there any even V8 available in 2008 for $45k? Maybe there was but it certainly wasn't tuned to 472 hp.
$62-66k sounds like a lot but the average new car price of $45k isn't far off and those are all NPC cars. These should be flying off the shelves!

I don't think that's a completely fair comparison since HP in general has come down in price with time. A 2023 Corvette Z06 is $78,000 in 2008 dollars, and it has 670 HP with a 0-60 of 2.6 seconds. Nothing available in 2008 can compete with that.

ISFs back then weren’t flying off the shelves either. 340i is priced a bit lower then the bbs option is500s and could be a considered a much better option. It’s a solid car but just as the gsf and isf, these will show more value in years 5-10 when bmws start to break down and our v8s are bulletproof and rare at that point.

FWIW my salesperson was very surprised when the books bundle contained 2 keys. She said all of them had been coming in with 1 key with the other on backorder. I'm not sure how true that is though so take it with a grain of salt. This was back in mid-Feb. I think it likely depends on when your car was built and shipped.

From what I was told: April Lexus will be sending out a letter to the residence & instructing owners to go to their local lexus dealers to pick up the 2nd key.

I was told I'd get it shipped to me 60-90 days after I got the car, which was February 11. My key glove was also not included due to back-order, and it should also arrive then.

I'm waiting on my 2nd key as well. Said Lexus would reach out in 60-90 days with instructions....
