The IS500 is faster than the ISF, RCF and GSF at Lightning Lap.

The RCF Track Edition is faster than the IS500, as it should be.
the other thing is they might have tuned it down because its not an F car and they don't want it to compete with a F car

If you have been in this forum long enough you should recall in the past 10 years there were multiple occasions IS-F owners brought up similar topic (they saw the 2010+ IS-F was slower than the 2008/2009 model year and suspected there are more changes than in the PR writeup), so this problem may be traced back to many years ago and not simply begin with the IS500. However they were unable to reach closer to the root cause due to various reasons. From my perspective, the true value of car ownership is not for what car one owns, but knowledge he gains during the ownership. So I would like to revisit this topic just like what other IS-F owners have done in the past.

There's no point arguing with him. He's been hyper analyzing and writing about cars for a long time. We are the unlucky ones because he stumbled across the IS500, and now we just have to wait for him to find a new car to pick on.

I believe the IS500 will make the advertised peak hp/torque at a specific RPM, so no I do not believe they rated their cars incorrectly.

What makes the difference is the output curve across the whole RPM range, and how the transmission is programmed to deliver the power as well.

Most of my articles are based on facts and tech data/info auto makers released to the public. Whenever there is subjective aspect I will clearly label it out and emphasis that part is my analysis, so you are welcome to disagree with me.

Now I would like to suggest you to focus more on my new website (not the one you posted above). The old website was heavily affected by sponsors which conflicts with my belief, so I am migrating the good stuff to the new website with better tech stack to support global traffic, and resuming adding new contents.

Felixcat, exit this thread please. I clearly asked you to pm me. Choose your wording carefully about “worship” in future posts and your constantly nit-picking arguments. I have zero concern about genuine questions, debate and discussion as long as it’s polite and mature. There IS a concern however about intentional trolling and you are about to lose access to this model subforum because of that concern.

I’ll say it again, this is a subforum for is500 owners and enthusiasts. If that’s not you, time to move on.

Thank goodness. Now back to our regularly scheduled program already in progress… A 1981 film where someone released the Kraken. 😈

I just spoke to my old salesman… He said so far there’s only been TWO allocations of ‘23 IS 500s in his region. (OKC) Said they will hear on Friday if his shop will get any and reminded me again of how lucky I was to get one.

Trust me dude, I know…

I use this website to track the used IS500s prices nationwide: https://joinyaa.com/cars/#/make=lexu...&sort=dist-asc
It’s frustrating to see the marked up prices not come down on these things even a little despite constant assurances from various Youtubers that they’ll ‘crash’.
