Hey guys so I have serious issues with the range of my key fob for the IS500. It has a difficult time working even when only like 15-20ft away. My 2015 IS350 I could do from inside my apartment like 100ft away.

I don’t mind going aftermarket…….anyone have any ideas on what I can do about this. I’ve taken it to the dealership and they said they can’t do anything else.

I've noticed the same thing. the range for the fob isn't great on this car for some reason.

Mine sucks too. Maybe they think people will be using their phones?

I would love to just use the phone or app but its way too slow for my liking and also the key fob is just one button whereas the app I have to find my phone, open the app and then click the lock/unlock buttons. just would think for a $65k vehicle they would've done a better job there.

word...that app is slow and the signal from the fob shouldn't even be an issue at this point.

Because there’s a chip shortage the chips were cut in half so they could be used in twice as many remotes. But since it’s half a chip it’s half the range.

Has anyone tried to open up the fob and either try to add a longer antenna? Or just spitballing here, try another battery? Or remove the leather wrap? Idk, I haven’t done anything to troubleshoot but the range is pretty garbage.

I agree the range is horrible and not sure why. I does really affect me as mine is always in the garage and the time i do take it out, I rarely have to lock it because I am either in it or in a safe spot and within eye sight...that being said, the time I do use it, it really sucks. Could it be a bad set of batyeriez as said above? Never had issues with my previous ISs or RC
