Incoming December to Remember for me
Hello all,
My first post. I have been lurking for a couple of months here since I discovered the IS500. What a great car! I put myself on the waiting list at a nearby dealer on Sept. 27. Have to say I was getting a little bummed of what I was hearing here on the forum concerning this awesome machine with availability and all. I persevered however. The first allocation for the IS500 in October came and went for my dealer with not a one coming in. Began to think it is not going to happen. November 2, has been another story. Dealer said they had one on their November allocation coming, but it was not my first choice, as it was the premium, has the upgraded flatblack wheels, not Iridium, or Cloudgray. It is Atomic Silver with red interior. Decided to do it and gave him the deposit yesterday at MSRP. They said it will be here in December. December to Remember, Giddy Up! They called again today to say it was portside in L.A. and should be in customs the next couple of weeks. After another four to six weeks of time it will/should have left the rail yard and the truck to find its way to me. Assuming it follows that expected schedule of course. He said the schedule is pretty consistent as of late. So I am F sport stoked!!

My, just like yours, is coming in December, but my dealer gave me an option of picking it up on January 3rd so that I can avoid a year of paying personal property tax. Depending on your state laws, I would ask your dealer if you can do that as well.
Congratulation again and great color combo.

Thank you for the tip Cvija. No property tax on cars here thank goodness.
The more I see Atomic Silver the more I like it. My first choice was Cloud Gray or Iridium. Interior did not really matter, just wanted to not have to take the white interior. Looks great, just concerned about maintaining it.

Louisiana. They hit us hard on new vehicle sales up front. You pay full sales tax upon purchase. After that it is only about 40.00 each time you renew the registration and 20.00 for an inspection sticker every two years. So when I take delivery I am going to get hit a whopping 6K. Mercy! Pretty much eliminates my anticipated exhaust mod for the time being. Still may get the spolier mentioned in the IS 500 threads.

Regarding the tax, our sales tax is 7.8% of the sale minus the value of a car you sold or traded.
After that you pay yearly personal property on an appraised value of your vehicle depreciates every year.
It sucks, but not bad.

Be thankful! I had to pay 8.25% sales tax on my $63k MSRP and around $700 to register if I remember correctly. That registration fee is yearly here. I had an additional $7k in taxes and fees out the door. My brother's AT4X was a hair over $1000 to register and that is yearly too!

Seibon CF spoiler A thread in this IS 500 forum discusses it. The exhaust? Not really sure. May just keep it stock and get some high end cutouts that open to taste, or should I say hearing desire. They are frequently called "zoomies", they are available from Kindig it Designs website (*****in Rides).
