What are the thoughts on timeline for continued production? It seems like there are cars in port right now with cars that dealers already know about. My question is whether there will be further shipments of cars into the new year. I can get one right now, but not in a color that I really would like. I'm debating whether or not to snag it or wait it out. Dealer doesn't seem to have any info on further allotments. It appears most of these early cars have been white, black and orange. I can't imagine they'd shut it down at 300 ish cars.

^^ production is limited and while more are likely, no telling what your dealer will be allocated (color.combo) so if it is a color you like, better snag it. If you really dislike it, wait because it will bother you.

I went in with the mindset to take what I could get, and worst-case scenario I would wrap it. The only issue for me would have been interior.

I gave my dealer a list of acceptable color combos. Once one came up, they called me. I essentially got to jump the line because I was willing to be flexible on color.

There's about 560 2023 IS500 accounted for to this day, and there will be more as the 150 Molten's aren't all in there.
There was like 930 2022 IS500 built in total (excluding press car and preproduction) so my guess is there's gonna be 800-900 2023 and that's gonna be it. Don't wait and grab one if you can, they will be pretty much impossible to get after the first run.

So, 'that's gonna be it' for MY23 or for the IS 500 altogether?

For the 2023 IS500. Pretty sure it'll come back in 2024.

I read from a Lexus exec that it’ll be a 4 year production run (unless that’s changed recently which I haven’t heard anything about). So from MY22 to MY26 with the final one scheduled to roll off the Tahara plant some time in the summer of ‘26 assuming they’re going by their regular production schedule.

there is no guarantee, get one while you can, they could stop for any reason and not produce ever again.

Several folks have made great points, but this last line should be the ultimate determining factir. 👍🏽

When I read that article I interpreted it as this current IS model will have a 4 year lifespan. So 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. But I could be wrong.

It'd be interesting to see a breakdown by color. Especially curious to see how many Grecian Water 23's were produced. I'm thinking maybe 5% of production so far - so that's only 25 cars!
