I know it has been discussed before but I've seen a couple different part numbers suggested and I can't seem to find a definitive answer on the correct number for the credit card key for the IS500. I would like to avoid ordering the wrong part. Can anyone that has actually added this share the part number?

 

If you are ordering from one of the online lexus stores the easiest way is just call them or go on live chat and give them your vin..if you're getting one from eBay I don't know.

At first I was concerned because people say the battery on these goes dead quicker than a fob but I took the battery out of the keycard and it will still start the car if you put a foot on the brake and hold the lexus symbol to the switch.

What is a key card? What does it do?

 

it does exactly what your fob does, but with no buttons. you can open and lock the door when you're in close proximity and start your car...and the card fits in most wallets. so if you don't like carrying the fob around, you have the card in your wallet.

...so with that being said, you cannot pre-unlock doors or trunk or lock the door when you walk away unless you use the lexus app on your phone.

 

I assume its similar to 2022-23 IS350, here is the part #8990448X70 Supersession#: 89904-48X70. Doesn't IS500 come with one? I know my 2022 DHP came with it.

 

Yes the 350 key will work. Only the 2022 Launch Edition brought the card key. For 2023 no version of the IS brings the card key from the factory. Don't forget you have to order the key blank that needs to be cut. The part number is 69515-30350

 

Wow.. Lexus is really cutting the budget on the 2023 production.

 

^^ Well, with inflation through the roof, I would rather them cutting some gimmick and such to keep the overall car cost more manageable but that is just me. If I could order a car without the radar, lane keep assist and all that stuff that I turn off, I would in a heartbeat. Give me the backup camera and the blind spot monitoring and that is all I would want

 

I just purchased my 2023 and only received 1 keyfob

 

So my question about the credit card keys is I want to get the card with the F on the back which are for the RCF and GSF and even those varied with cards based on years, but they all had F's. How can I figure out if one of those cards with the F is the same frequency / coding as the the IS 500?

 

I am not sure that is normal, I would ask the dealer or call Lexus USA and find out.

 

right now it is. Lexus and toyota vehicles are only sending out 1 keyfob because of chip shortage. Once in they will ship the second one.
