IS500 Specification Datasheet: A Love Story

OP thanks for doing this, very interesting!
if I’m reading correctly, for example, there are 96 MOL w/ VINs so does that mean only 96 have been produced/shipped so far?
PS - I love that one of the 48 GW’s is a Base model inbound to Honolulu!! Ha!

There should be all 150 MOLs that have been produced so far. And I remember seeing awhile ago that someone else had a base model Grecian Water. It kind of makes sense because GW is a non-upcharged paint color. What's the last 4 digits of your car coming in? 🙃

I have the canadian GW which is premium trim in the states w/o a few things, and Grecian5 have the other one, I think I saw another GW one when I was driving around in my work van in my area but couldn't tell if it was a 500 or just a regular IS from far...

That's a common problem a lot of people have. Lexus could've fixed that with some fender vents and big brakes I'm sure 🤣 *sips coffee*

One rainy day while not driving my car I saw an Infrared IS. Thankfully we were coming up to a traffic light so I could see the lack of the bulge on the hood. That is when I knew it was likely an IS 350. Honestly I have seen very few 2021+ IS's in my area (white mostly) on rare occasion but they are always driving in the opposite direction so I don't have time to catch either the hood bulge or exhaust tips to see what IS it is. I am likely the only IS 500 in my area kind of like I am the only Mk4 Supra Turbo in the area.

I randomly saw an Infrared IS 350 once and was lucky enough to be sitting behind it in traffic for a bit. I think that sealed it that Infrared was my new favorite color on the IS. It was morning, and the light coming in at an angle hit it just right to make it shine.

that's not msrp in canada cuz I got my 2023 at 2022 price @ $75k before tax etc, lexus canada website listed at $77,725 before tax and other fees. pretty sure $79,900 is before tax etc... but the Canadian model kinda fits between US premium trim and the base trim cuz we don't get the base model and like I said before we don't have couple things in ours (rear windshield sun shades, power tilt & telescope steering, road sign recognition, bbs wheels option, and I don't think we get the molten pearl special appearance package either)

Does anyone believe this data informs us any better about the lifespan of the IS 500 as we know it? I've read some people state 2024, 2025. And, some guesses predicated on this being a "parts bin" car for Lexus to run through some things before electrifying the IS. Any thoughts?

The car is on borrowed time, as far as I'm concerned. The plan may be to produce it until runout of the current IS, but there are plenty of externalities that could change that very quickly. If, for example, something like the proposed revisions to how MPGe is calculated went in to effect, models like the LC 500 and IS 500 would most certainly be dropped post haste to improve CAFE for the remaining models.
