The GSF Parking brakes system is also Actuator but a large motor that pulls two cables. This Module has logic on it (unlike the IS500 is just a two wire actuator to move the motor in either direction).

Here's example of the GSF Parking Brake Motor system:

and IS500 (and typical Toyota/Lexus) Brake Actuator that mounts onto the rear caliper:
one wonders what the solution will be for the IS 500 rear big brake. I don't care that I will have a light or an error, but have been waiting on a solution that my friend is working on. I'm half tempted to just put the rears on and wait for a solution down the road. I don't think the RC RCF solution is going to help the IS 500 crew like many think it will.

This is really good info, thanks. Seems like the most straight-forward solution would be to use a separate electromechanical parking brake caliper like some cars (ex.: Tesla Model S). Obviously, you'd need to design a bracket similar to 350phi's except that would accomodate the RC F caliper AND the parking brake caliper but that shouldn't be terribly difficult.

This has been thought of, but there is not much room around the knuckle to mount another electronic caliper to exclusively take care of the parking brake job.
There is a bunch of wires in the way of for an caliper with the actuator on it to be mounted in the most ideal location.

Ouch, yeah...looks pretty tight. Still waiting on my car so I haven't seen first-hand. There are some much tighter and more compact packages than the Tesla caliper, such as the Gen 2 R8 / Huracan. More expensive, but not outrageous.

Corvette C8 EPB is all I gotta say. Looks to be same casting as Tesla Caliper (supplier Brembo), more compact actuator motor and easier to purchase new. Still concern it wont clear all the wiring on the knuckle.
I am living with the error code for now and waiting to see what the new RCF has and will likely go that route.

How is the performance of the bigger brakes compared to the stock? I would assume much better but just curious as to what you think?

Honestly? not sure. I am not a track orient person. My vehicle is built mainly as a street cruiser, occasional spirit driving through the canyons and casual car show attender.
I did it just because I could, to prove it can be done, to pioneer and help provide knowledge to the rest of the community that will eventually go down this upgrade path. We still need to figure out the Parking brake Situation.

I recently uploaded video if some stuff I filmed of install of the RCF brakes on my IS500:

@kevdogg555 sorry, just saw this! The BBK does *not* fit behind the enkei wheels. You will need spacers. I am on H&R spacers currently, but will be selling them to get a custom forged set. Smallest size we can run are 15mm spacers because the hub flange/lip is 14mm. I am sure you already know this, but use new OEM Banjo (? can't remember the name but I think that is what the dealer called them) washers instead of the steel line copper ones. I had a seep with both sides on mine and had to pay for another bleed/flush after correction with the oem part.

I can't wait to install. don't know if I should wait for the 23 RCF rears. I don't want to have the BBK front and standard rears...won't be uniform...haha
