Are you able to take a look at the rear caliper and parking brake setup?

Looks to be cable actuated like the GSF. Sad news….

Looks like the Tesla model 3 caliper or C8 corvette caliper may be the only method here.

yep, I have both of those calipers on my bench on R&D. I notice a lot of other companies use the tesla caliper but only place to find them is on a used market/ebay. with the c8 caliper, anyone can order it new from dealer or used on market/ebay.

let us know how it turns out. I’m picking up an IS500 here soon and this will be the only modification I do to the car.

To confirm the 23 rcf is using the gsf electic parking brake. Here’s a pic from Toyota website.

Curious if you're also looking into the Wilwood electronic parking brake as well? The compactness of the caliper is appealing compared to the Tesla option.

I think the big question is what it will take to integrate the electronics and keep the parking brake system happy with any of the non-oem options.

Any reason why you're doing this?

I mean Apple CarPlay is a good refresh, other than that, I’d stick with the GSF!

Could you share with me wiring diagram of the EPB system on the '23 RCF ?
I want to review it to see how close it is to '21+ IS or 4GS system EPB system...

So for those that do not care about losing Parking Brake but want to get rid of the error, I may have a solution.
The error fault on the dash is pretty annoying, as soon as you clear it, 20-30 seconds later it comes right back so it makes the Instrument cluster's MDI displays pretty useless.
I made an adapter wire harness that plug into a junction point inside the cabin of the vehicle and mounted my completed shredded actuators that spin freely right behind the two side rear seat cushions.

Some steps I had to take with Techstream (or similar OEM diagnostic tool equivalent) :
  1. Turned off Automatic parking brake when going into part (this one can be turned off with the physical switch or with Diagnostic tool)
  2. Clear DTC faults on the Brake Module
  3. Also reinitialized EPB re-learn (not sure if this one is needed really but for me it was since i was messing around with everything so much)
So far no faults and can finally see my MDI on the cluster. I am still driving it around (very limited due to be just a weekend car and its been raining) to do further testing to see if features won't randomly trigger the error again when it potentially tries to use the EPB, such as emergency braking, radar cruise control etc remains working.
Only major caveat I see with this path is end user must never hit parking brake switch or it will set a DTC faults that will need to be cleared with a Diagnostic Tool that most people won't have.

<photo of it connected during quick testing in the garage before I mounted and reinstalled the seats.>
