Default Lexus IS 500 GSF / RCF Brake upgrade Track Edition

06/10/23 Just finished the wife’s 500, she had her calipers done a custom color, let me know what you think.

Part 2 rears are done.

another option that’s cost effective.

2009 - 2012 Nissan GTR 380mm rotors, convert the lug bolts to studs. Use Track Edition Calipers with OEM pads or, Ron Ramirez is working on alternative pads.

The pictures below are of my wife's 500 with GSF/RCF Calipers and Rotors

The 2023 RCF will have an electronic parking brake. In theory, those calipers should be plug in play when they are released

They look good. I think upgraded calipers are overkill for 95% of owners.

yeah but let’s see if they are brembos or small brakes like everything else these days. I don’t mind losing the e-brake because I don’t care about it, but I specifically wanted this color of caliper so I’m sticking with it. My friend is coming up with a solution for the e-brake.

I wish they had originally came w/ BBK. I'm on standby for the rears to upgrade. overall, looks great! can't wait to do mine. I may buy the front though because inflation always sucks!

Looks great. Add me to the list of "will upgrade when the '23 RC F rears are available for order."

@lojackfty How dark is that tint? Do you have anything on the windshield? It looks great, especially on Cloudburst, I'd just be slightly concerned with visibility at night. Trying to decide how dark to tint my car when it arrives in a few weeks, so I'd definitely appreciate your feedback.

Dont know how dark @lojackfty went on his, but went 20% all around with 80% on the front windshield on mine. Had the exact same nighttime visibility concerns as you and was very happy to find that there wasn’t really a trade off on that front. Another fear was the installer warned that the lighter tint (80% on front windshield) can sometimes have a blueish hue to it and so far haven’t noticed that either.

Looks absolutely sinister on Caviar.

Thanks for the input!

Thank you, it’s limo, and it’s dark, but you do get used to it at night. It truly makes a huge difference in the day.

I'm doing the fronts only- going blue! Waiting for Swift to finish up R&D on the springs so I can do everything at once, lol

^^ I really admire your willingness to do mods

My only mod that I am so itching to do is the RR Racing bazooka exhaust system but I am not sure if they would ship to Canada and who would install it here....but the clips are so intoxicating and those fibre tips looks sweet (over the bluish chrome tips)

Ship to the border. There are lots of courier companies in Canada that specialize in picking stuff up at the border for you and dealing with that. I do that so I can take advantage of free continental US shipping.

Where did you source the front brakes as I am trying to do the same thing. Thanks!

I ordered my calipers from Bell Lexus in AZ, Brembo rotors from eBay, pads from Arrowhead Lexus.
Calipers can be found by looking under (as an example) 2019 GSF or RCF

There are a few colors of caliper, so make sure you order both sides in the same color!
