I agree 100% with you DLPTony - This car in Sport+ is a beast and I am sure upgrading the tires would only make it better - Where I live, summer tires are tricky for the shoulder seasons so I am gonna go all season when I swap mine just because I have been caught a few times in November/early December where I wish I had a diaper for my other surprise (lol)

As much as I love my 500, I'd never challenge a 340 (or any other BMW with the B58). Stock to stock the 340 is ~.5 seconds faster 0-60.

it would kick our *** for sure. I think if we got sticker tires and replaced stock we would be closer to .3 slower but awd will kick our ***.

Define kick our ***. 😜

Light to Light with my PS4S’ (Manual & Sport+), the M340 AWD is just a nose ahead. There’s no dust eating on our end. With the Supra it’s neck and neck, because BMW saved the extra sauce for themselves. 😎

EDIT: I do have a TOM’s Racing Air Filter installed.

Good to know I honestly was just assuming from what I’ve watched online, glad to see you got some real life experience lol. This comment definitely got me excited to get to 621 miles.

Find the middle ground between @wthrman2 and me. You can usually smell my tires once I park. LOL!

I’ve probably watched the same vids and the PS4S tires are never installed. If you want to play, the car has to be in Manual & Sport+ to have a chance. Unlike every other manufacturer, our transmission has to be worked, but the sound and pay off is magnificent!

It's pretty interesting, though. The IS500 has nearly a 100 HP advantage over the M340 and HP is king. Curb weight basically the same. Seems the IS500 could really benefit from even shorter gearing. Too bad the 10 speed in the LC500 doesn't fit.

Well and AWD. My STI was probably as fast to 60 MPH as my IS500 but about 75, I'm sure my IS would kill it.

That’s the advantage of a turbo, the engine isn’t wrung out nearly as much. I mean, in the IS 500, you have to work for it! 😂 The gear ratios are so tall you basically have stay at 6k - 6500k rpms to compensate.

On my way home from Caffeine and Octane on Sunday, I got into the middle of a Camaro squad of about 8. My gut told me 3 of them were pretty boosted, but the others weren’t. In 10 minutes of shenanigans I dropped 3/4 of a tank to 1/2. Holding the rpms will pay off in the results, but boy will you pay at the pump!

“Hey man! Hold up a sec, let me stop off at this Shell/BP station right quick. Then we can finish this race.” 😂🤦🏽‍♂️

LMAO!! That was funny - Too bad our IS 500 can't do mid-drive refueling like they do military bombers (lol)

I doubt anyone bought an IS500 for 0-60 times. However, it is a very nice SLEEPER.

Two close friends of mine have the B58 (2019 440i JB4 stage 2/93 octane) and a 2023 340i (stock on 93 octane). My IS500 with PS4S's, catback exhaust, intake, RR Crank Dampener, E30 fuel and High Spark Coil Packs is plenty fun on the highway with very positive results!
