Purchasing IS500 for 2023
#91
Ah, OK! I saw a black IS 350 there on my way out and just assumed it was yours. 😅 But now that I think about it, it may have not been a DHP car. Whatever.
The triple beams are such a big upgrade, too. Honestly my IS 350 wasn't that optioned. It had Mark Levinson, but that's about it. Everything else on it was standard equipment. Obviously the V-8 is why I am here, but the other items, including the 360-degree camera system, do remind me I got the big boi IS.
It makes me wonder just how many base-model IS 500s are out there.

Yeah for the most part. Some dealers are discounting online but is few from what I can tell. I’d say it really depends where you want to buy from and the color combo that you have in mind.

Yeah I think if you want white, black, silver, there seems to be enough inventory out there you can find a dealer within range that you can negotiate with. It still appears that molten, red, and either of the blues are far and few between and they may be asking for a bit more.

I saw a Grecian w/White at a Cars & Coffee last year and the interior was filthy. Most people do not possess the necessary skills (re: OCD) to take care of it properly, so I can see it passed up a lot.

NICE!! That’s a great benefit they offer. I’m shocked how many dealers don’t know the rules though — I’ve had multiple offer it to me (I discharged in 2008) and I have to show them it says only for those discharged in last 2 yrs.

I actually joined this forum to reply to this thread, specifically.
I met with a local dealer in May of last year to "order" an 2022 IS500. Premium package, caviar black, red interior. They said "No problem, we'll put the order in but it may be a while", and I put down a deposit. A year later, all I have is a bunch of follow-up emails with "sorry, no updates yet". After reading all these threads, I'm starting to realize that there probably isn't any order with my name on it, just a "waiting for allotment" list.
I reached out to my contact at the dealer, hoping for more info, or maybe that we got in "under the wire", but I'm pessimistic at best. It appears there's a similar spec 2023 a few hours away, and if all else fails, I may be going on a road trip to get one elsewhere.
Thanks to all those who have replied so far.

Found a dealer a few hours away with my preferences incoming, waiting to hear back from them now. Thanks!

^^ I couldn't agree with you more!! Find a dealer that has either one on the lot or already underway and secure a deal with them. If a dealer is not able to be honest with you on the fact that they have not ability to do a custom order, why should they earn your business/loyalty when they have total disregard for you. xMLMx - I see that you have already started this process and make sure it is already on the way, and not the dealer stringing you along.
