Default Base Wheels for 2023 IS 500

I'm on a couple waitlists here in SoCal for a 2023 IS 500 with a preference for the base Enkei dark metallic wheels but it seems like all the cars coming in have the upgraded BBS black wheels.
Has anyone on this side been able to get a 2023 with the base wheels or are all the 2023 models stuck with the BBS?

Thanks in advance.

I have seen a few 2023 on here with the darker Enkei wheels so they are out there - The BBS are much more expensive and I think dealers wanna make extra money with these packages

I don't think it's the dealers. They seem to be building them almost one spec minus some color changes. Seems like nearly every Lexus IS 500 is getting the BBS's in my area or at least in the exterior colors I want.

ya i like the Enkei more than the BBS. Then you throw in the fact that the BBS are about ~$2,500 more, Then I would really like to get the base wheel. Didn't love the Enkei as much in the 2022 lighter color, but in the darker color much bigger fan.

However if a black on black IS500 comes up for MSRP i think i would prob have to take it given how hard it has been to get one. But ya it is what lexus puts on the car not up to the dealers. My hope if a black on black come with the BBS i can get the dealer to swap them with another car coming in (assuming that one has the base). I def have seen more BBS than Enkei

Ya pretty much every '23 will have the BBS wheels ... just a smarter way for Lexus to effectively bump the MSRP to account for inflation without actually making the base MSRPs look like they've changed much. Similar to the elusive base non-premium IS500 where only a couple total have even been identified as having been manufactured.

But there are a handful of Enkei '23s out there. Mine, for example, came with them but it was a special order by Lexus NA rather than a dealership assigned IS500.

Since you're in SoCal it'd be easy enough to take one with the BBS and barter with a nearby IS500 owner (or even IS350 owner) to get the Enkies. I did something similar as preferred the '22 silver Enkei to the dark gray '23 Enkei so worked with another forum member to make that swap happen.

I actually like the BBS wheels that are even on the 23's.

I have seen both Enkeis and BBS at my local dealer, but they were both Toyota employee built to order. Over my past several months of searching, it does seem 90% of the 23’s allocated to dealers are equipped with the BBS package.

Personally, I prefer the Enkeis. Even more so in the dark metallic over the silver on the 22’s. Given the choice, I would pass on the BBS option to save nearly $2,500 on the price of the car (or to put toward another set of preferred aftermarket wheels). However, I would not let it deter me from purchasing the vehicle if all of the other boxes are checked and was BBS equipped.

On the Enkei's I prefer the silver over the black. If I would have received a '22 that is what it would have had. Since the '23 wheels are all black I'll take the around 4 pounds per wheel weight savings of the BBS I guess. (Trying to justify the wheels I had no choice on).

I was curious of the weight difference, good to know.

It's what Lexus claimed on the launch edition cars for the BBS wheels.

"Not only are they impressive looking, the 19-inch BBS® wheels are approximately 4 pounds lighter per wheel compared to the standard 19-inch IS F SPORT wheel."

By me in South Florida, I have only seen one hit a dealer within a 250 mile radius. And I have it 😉

I’m thinking about purchasing the stock base enkei rims for winter tires but not sure if the juice is worth the squeeze in terms of cost. How much would this put me back? And does anyone know if the BBS wheel size will fit the enkei?

Stock BBS and Enkei are same size wheels (width, diameter, and offset).

Hmm, so I guess the Enkei wheels are somewhere in between? They were also reportedly lighter than the standard IS F Sport wheel.

So this means the BBS wheels are one to two pounds lighter than the Enkeis.
