Why would anybody be surprised ? They first showed the IS250C in EUROPE, & they never even offered the IS350 sedan there, only the IS250 and the IS220d.
It has always been expected that they will have the IS350C in the North American market.
Because an IS350C hasnt been announced(that I know of).
A lot of people also "always expected" and IS350 MT.
A lot of people also "always expected" a non convertible Coupe version of the IS.
I've actually known that the 350C was coming out about 2 months ago. Because I am pretty good friends with my salesperson. We went out to lunch 2 months ago and she said that she was going to get the 350C when it comes out.
the wheel gap is ridiculous, didn't someone in lexus notice that?
i think if put on different wheels and stance it would look great, but stock looks horrible
Still looks like a Solara with an Avalon back end. And what's with the extra wheel gap!? You could raise a family in there!
100% agreed with fizzboy's comments. looks like a damn toyota solara up front. And no doubt, why is that thing jacked up high enough to take that car to a rock crawling competition??

I and many others here that I know surely do not expect a IS350 MT nor a non-convertible coupe, they are all just speculations from unofficial sources, plus there were a lot of people just posting that's the two configuration that they want, but there are never any indications whatsoever from Lexus that those two would be available.
OTOH, the IS350C is expected in the North American market because the IS350 sedan is available here, unlike in Europe, plus those who had contact with Lexus insiders already said here a few months ago that they know the IS350C will be available here, just like the sedan has always been, & it all make sense too.
In fact, this has been discussed before in a few threads on the IS-C a few months ago. So while there may not have been an official announcement, it was hardly a surprise at all.
