shopping for ISC
Hi all,
I'm looking to get an IS-C.. test drove a 350 Fsport and a 250 (regular) tonight after work and liked them both. I loved the white color of the Fsport model, but from what I've been reading here, the Fsport model has less options such as memory seats and that white color is only on the Fsport model.
I want MORE options... I'm a gadget person.. I told the dealer I absolutely must have dynamic cruise control.. have it on my Prius and I will never own another car without it. Don't care if i have to special order it.
Can i special order that Fsport white color on a non Fsport ISC?? It reminds me of BMW's Alpine White. Love it. Would love to get the red interior too.
Any words of wisdom??

I love my Ultra White. I have 3 coats of Zaino on it and in the sun it looks like pearl. Beautiful. I believe F-Sport colors are only available on F-Sport vehicles. I had to have mine for the wheels and the handling. I also love my aluminum pedals. Not sure if they come on a regular ISC or not.
I don't need options. Nobody drives my car but me so the seat never moves. A good stereo is all I need.

Talked to my dealer about special ordering... Looks like I'd have to go with the non F-sport model in starfire pearl with red interior.. all the bells and whistles, including radar cruise control...
3 to 4 month wait if I do that...
Still pondering...

The IS Convertibles are not changing for 2014... just the hardtops.
Dealer says Lexus is phasing out IS-C and 2014 will most likely be the last year. They will be introducing a new convertible based on one of their concept cars..

So here's my story and what led me here.
in 2004, i purchased my dream car: a brand spankin new BMW M3 convertible. 6 speed manual, alpine white with black top and gray interior. LOVE LOVE LOVE that car. I had a few minor problems with it after the warranty ran out and YIKES, it was expensive. Bushings at 60K miles was about $2K and then power steering pump developed a problem that was another $2K to fix. But still, a super fun car to drive. Premium gas, but since I had a 6 mile commute, it wasn't an issue.
January of 2011 I got laid off, and took a different job 67 miles away. I did the commute for 6 weeks in the M3 and it was clear that wasn't gonna be a long term solution, so after much deliberation, I ditched the M3 and bought a 2012 Prius level 5 with all the gadgets including the radar cruise and lane-keep-assist. Made the commute bearable. 1 year and 40K miles later, I found an even better job much closer to home (18 miles), so I changed jobs again and here I am 7 months into the new job and loving it, but wishing I had never sold the M3 and thinking how un-inspiring the Prius is to drive.
So here I am.. A convertible guy from way back... and I hope the IS350C is everything I expect and more. I know the performance won't be the M3, but it's fun to drive and has Toyota build quality (we have a 2011 Highlander), plus more features/gadgets and it's much cheaper to keep on the road... I plan on keeping it 10 years or so.

I'm a convertible person too. If it is above 65 and below 95, my top is down. Windows too. That is a total pet peeve of mine for someone to have their top down and their windows up.
I had an S2000 for 4 1/2 years. I loved it, but swore I would never have a ragtop again. This car fits the bill perfectly. I promise you will love it.
Can't wait to see the pics.
