Question 2015 IS 250C Navigation SD Card Location

It is my understanding that the 2015 IS 250C has the GEN 8 navigation and uses the SD card updates (PT219-GEN08-18). I looked for the location of the SD card, but couldn't find it. Does anyone know where it would be located?

Unfortunately, the ISC never got the gen8 upgrade, so our cars were amongst the last to be on gen 7. however, gen 7 was a very short generation that only started in 2013 and lasted 2 years.

Thanks for the reply. However, the attached PDF from Lexus claims that the 2015 IS-C is gen 8. Also, the images that I have seen for the SD card list the 2015 IS-C on them (see below). Are these not accurate? Sorry, but I'm a little confused and I'm just trying to figure this out.

Greetings,

The best way to tell is to see if your navigation unit supports 3d view and has free traffic. If it only supports top down view and XM Traffic, than it is gen7. Gen8 is a pretty significant change, but is optimized for touchpad/joystick support while 7 is more about the touchscreen

Thanks for this. I just checked and didn't see a way to enable 3D view, so I guess it's a gen 7. It also had an option to update maps. When I clicked it, it said it could not find a DVD or USB with the map update. I guess that confirms it.

Here is a pic of the map info, if it helps.

Oh, I forgot to ask. Since it is a gen 7, is there any way for me to update the maps myself?

There are some confusing listings from Lexus regarding the navigation systems specifically for the 2015 IS C. Not sure why.

The 2013-2015 all use the same Gen 7 HDD-based navigation system. The update needs to be done by a dealer.

Last I looked my 2013 Gen7 had the following listed.
Update Navigation PT219-HDD07-16 (Master USB SST LEXD-HDD07-16)... Site shows $160

FWIW my local Toyota dealer said that can't do it. Only Lexus as it had something to do with what they can't see in the database. Anyway, they get the map on a USB stick and with the dealer purchase confirmed, receive a code to enter and complete the install. Well so I was told.
