The roof ECU is inside the car, on the passenger side, behind the rear seat back. So you will have to pull the seat out.

The code is for "No communication between sliding roof control ECU assembly and gateway ECU for more than 10 seconds," and can be caused by a couple of problems:
  • Sliding roof control ECU assembly
  • Gateway ECU
  • Wire harness or connector
The ECU is located basically in the middle of the backseats and seems to be accessed from inside the trunk. Because it's a retractable hardtop, there are a few pieces to get out of the way first.

I would expect a Lexus dealership would charge somewhere in the $1300-1500 range if it's the ECU that needs to be replaced.

This is the convertible top control module, it is rather expensive.
