So I live in Chicago. Plus I also know someone that owns a Lexus dealership plus others but my mechanic can fix it. It's not an issue for me. I talk to him before I make any car moves. But these cars are rarer for my area and your statement is well taken and appreciative. Went to the docs today and say a beautiful 2010 Red SC 430 convertible......Those and 250C's are more plentiful in my area. I have been looking in Georgia and warmer area's. The thing that sucks is there were a few 350C's around but they all sold and I was just learning about them. Funny thing is , I am not even sure why I want a convertible but I do and then I drove a 350C and was really surprised at the car. I used to have a Jaguar 1994 XJS coupe and for some reason it just gave me that feeling back.....it was a good feeling....LOL

Trust me, even if you only have one perfect day (or night) a month to drop the top, having a convertible makes everything just a little better! Plus being a hardtop, you can leave it up most of the year and it's quiet and just about perfect. Lexus didn't make a coupe for the IS... they should have. They stopped making hardtop convertibles, that was a mistake. It's been 6 years since these cars were made and people are beginning to notice how rare and enjoyable they are (esp. in the 350C).

You're exactly right. I know I like mine so much, I try to just go to the grocery store more than necessary because it's so much fun to drive. And then I sometimes have to drive with the top down and travel through the orchard mesa for 45 minutes just to get to the post office (even though it's only 5 miles away).

If you live in a hilly or mountainous area, I highly recommend the 350 engine. I have the 250 and it is constantly downshifting on uphill grades. It can't even hold itself in place at idle in my driveway that isn't steep at all.

Cant you give a non-refundable deposit? (within certain limits of course) $500 or so for them to hold the car lets say for three days to say a number.
Once you get there, check the car and if you like it, then buy it, if not, bite the 500 loss and move on to the next. That is what I did when I bought mine. The dealer gave me three days all in paper, made it by the second day. Had a local shop to do a PPI, scheduled on the arrival day. Do not take it to one of their shops.
I called in the area, and if the auto shop would sound super friendly upon mentioning the dealer, I would not choose that one. By the third call, this mechanic said dealer who, and that is where I took it. The dealer insisted I take it to this or other one because it was closer, and offered to cover the inspection cost, and said hell no. I could feel over the phone some tension, nervousness, which is a good thing.
IMO, I am very OCD when buying a car, if this would be a Ford Focus, or some Sentra, so then yeah I do not care about some of the stuff. IMO, there is way too much going on and I would not buy the car with those miles, seat condition and transmission. Do a truecar estimate or run it as if you were going to sell it to Carvana, adding all those issues, maybe get a quote for $5,000. Check Cargurus, do a nationwide search, change location for FB Marketplace. Honestly, I would not buy that car, way too many red flags and at 16k, they are crazy on the asking price. Not sure if that is what is happening, but I get like that sometimes, locked in into a car and cannot let go.
Seriously, don't buy it.

Unfortunately, you would have to replace the whole affected panel and there isn’t enough leather on the seat for that, and certainly none on the bottom.
Initial the surface treatment is a fine start but ultimately new seat covers will be needed. I’ve got my eye on eBay as mine are getting beyond just having a new coat of the leather Bondo applied. They aren’t hugely expensive but labor might be to get them installed. The vendor recommends professional installation for the seat backs due to the air bag.

I would keep looking.... Mine is a 2010 White/white with 50k and if I was selling it, it would only be about 22k. Just a heads up on what a little more money may get you...
