Automatic Light Control
Something weird happened on the way home tonight. The display and the combination meter flashed daylight mode in the dark briefly, then when I pulled in to park, it flickered pretty hard. Probably an oddball thing, but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. It's very distracting when you're trying to drive.
If it's the sensor (might could be), it's stupid expensive. 89121-06020 is the current part number, and they're well over $100 from any internet dealer parts counter. Aliexpress has them for less than $10, but it's hard to say if it will last as long as OEM.

No, that's not possible. The car gets a wash and interior clean almost weekly.
It didn't do it at all tonight. Very weird. I'm thinking the Body ECU got momentarily confused and it cleared out with a restart. Might also be part of having 220k miles on the odometer too. I noticed the wheel of fortune noise has returned earlier today too.

Yeah this would drive me nuts as well. Even if it happened once I wouldn't be able to shake wondering what it was.
Have you done anything recently - anything at all - within the electrical environment of the car? I had a bad LED dome light trip out the gas gauge (among other things) and only found it via the smell that occurred when I was troubleshooting with the door open. I once had the head unit zonk out when I hadn't properly tightened the negative battery terminal as well.
If not, I say spring the few bucks on the part as a test. If it is the cause, get the real deal. I have never in my life had a car this sensitive to electrical issues, so personally I wouldn't trust a CCP light control sensor for the long term.
