Default What is considered "normal" oil consumption on engines with higher mileage (200k+)?

There aren't that many reports on oil consumption. Aside from the information mentioned a plethora of times regarding ~1 qt consumption with heavy use every 600 miles, it seems that it's a case by case scenario. With higher mileage, say 200k and higher, would the consumption increase?

My car has just under 200k miles, and after 1,600 miles since the previous oil change, the level is barely underneath the full mark. Yesterday, I drove much harder, and held RPM's higher than I typically do, since I believe maintenance is up to par now. I check the oil level on all of my cars (that I drive frequently, such as a daily driver) every other day, usually, due to poor, past experiences.

On average, I only set time for the IS F on the weekends. Aside from just monitoring the oil level, should I be aware of any other aspects that may affect oil consumption, especially with higher mileage?

I have close to 225k on mine now. It doesn't use any significant quantity of oil on a 5k OCI. I haven't had to add oil to it except one time on a track weekend, and I'm not entirely sure why that happened.

Same here, nothing to note at 5k OCI, albiet I'm at much lower mileage. Very interested in more contributions to this thread however. I'm stunned how oil starvation & consumption is plaguing other modern makes/models out there in modern times (mainly a handful of Fords, a KIA & few Subarus I've seen). Curious how well our cars are holding up.

OCI. Don't exceed 5000 miles/ 6 months.

The consumption issue on modern cars is largely a result of manufacturers (or should I say government) pushing extended OCI to meet the latest environmental standards leading to piston rings gunking up and wearing down the cylinder walls.
