Default Lexus IS500 Around the Nurburgring ? : Spy Shots ( UPDATED - Larger Pics )

We haven't seen or heard much about it lately, but it appears as though the V8-powered Lexus IS 500 is still an ongoing project. This prototype spotted on the Nurburgring is clearly no ordinary IS 350 given its deep front air dam, extra large trunk lid spoiler and quad exhaust pipes. On top of that, we just heard a rumor that the new LS 460 will be the first Lexus with a fully defeatable electronic stability control system. We can only hope this high-powered IS will be the next nannyless Lexus headed our way.

I had to look back and forth from the monitor a few times because I thought I was getting double vision looking at the exhaust.

The exhaust can alway be changed... I just hope it comes with a 6-speed TRUE MANUAL tranny. Although, I've been hearing very good things about the new F1 tranny in the current IS.

I’m diggin’ it... I’ll take one as is, gold wheels/stacked exhaust tips and all! Besides, it’s the hidden jem inside the engine bay that makes it all worth while.

If Lexus can tune the chassis properly so that this car can be a true BMW 3-series competitor, it will finally start to be a viable performance car alternative to the vaunted 3-series.

I myself don't like unnecessary and friovolous nannys, but ESC is installed for a good reason. I get tired of hearing people b***h about it. Powerslides, especially with unskilled drivers, can be DANGEROUS.

Anybody have any stats on how much this V8 engine will weigh? Often when you stick a V8 into a car this size it becomes quite nose-heavy and understeers.

This things going to haul some serious *** !!!!! If the 350 already does low 5 sec runs,I bet this baby will do mid 4's...........I read it's suppose to have the new 8-speed transmission as well.
All we need is a damn manual!!! C'mon Lexus!
I also have an article stating that it will be called the ISF,can anyone confirm this?
