The real trick Lexus needs to work on, is, of course, handling. I get that they're a luxury company, blah blah blah, but this is their sports car. Come on Lexus, just pull out the stops for this one, pleeease.

Exactly, Lexus is smart to release the IS 500 (as long as they don't add that ridiculous '-F' designation...oh well), the V8 IS will enhance the sports car cred of all the IS range.
doesn't look at all like the 91 to me. i don't even know if there are any freeways in socal that have metal guardrail dividers. all i see are concrete dividers.
I wouldn't worry too much, as the 350 is still the fastest in the 'mainstream' category. The IS 500 will be a very rare, ultra-expensive car if my expectations are correct, and might even carry special badging so it won't exactly displace the 350 as the 'halo car.' More like take the IS range to a different level.

if you notice the two sides of the freeway are on different heights...the other side is higher at some points
