IS500 if it comes with a quick tranny (ie: smg equal).

I don't want a car that'll blow rods or pistons, dump the transmission, or just plain out SUCK *** AS FAR AS RELIABILITY GOES.

There's one thing about Toyotas which make paying for only the Lexus name worth it; the cars don't die.

Kill the car's handling? They say that as if the IS handles well right now... OMG...

That's the argument usually reserved for when someone knows they've lost a "my car is better than your car" argument.

No, it's just another criteria.
I know how much has gone wrong with our non-Lexus cars, and I know how much has gone wrong with our Lexus cars.

Take any of our non-Lexus cars and it'll have more problems than the sum of all our Lexus'.

So you only buy cars that are nearing the end of their life cycle?
That's not a bad idea... but what's your rationale behind it?

I figure it'll be cheaper because it's easier to negotiate the price of the car assuming a new one is going to replace it soon.

it has nothing to do w/ the life of a car.. it has to do with.. pretty you buying the same car and paying more money just a big motor~ I mean its like saying. you bought a C230 and 3 yrs later you bought a C55. I don't think you'll feel like you bought a new car because the interior will be the same if that makes any sense. thats just me though

Okay I understand now, it's the perspective of having an IS350, going to an IS500. Gotcha.

I voted for IS500. But too many nice super-fast cars coming, Nissan GTR and Toyota Supra. If all of them are priced around $50k-$60k, I would go for GTR for sure.

I was at the dealership today and talked to the manager who just came from a Lexus auto show( i cant remember where). He said the IS 500 is to have 445 hp and eventually come in a 2 and 4 door versions. And that there wil be an IS convertible on the way too. I'm guessing all of this will be at the end of 2007 or beginning of 2008.

By the way about the M3 vs IS500, Lexus is building the IS 500 to be a better car than the M3, they wouldnt produce it unless it was very competitve and knowing its a lexus, its probably going to be a better value and more reliable. Just as the IS 350 is better car than the 330 and alot better value than the 335.
And about looks, we dont know yet since noo valid pics of the is 500 have surfaced. But i'll be the first to admit that you I bet you couldn't go wrong with either car.
