Hm, the car looks insane. It's not even pretty or ugly. It's just insane. The V8 makes the front end very bulbous and unfortunate. Body kit looks... okay, but still crazy. Can't wait for better pics.
I want everything in that interior though. Everything.

I am honestly disappointed by theses pictures but I guess we will have to wait and see.

i think it looks badass but i which that lexus had A-manual trans option and B-done something with the headlights (smoke)
i pray that lexus doesnt do what they did with the 1/2/3 UZ motors and not offer a manual trans at ALL for the UR series.

I'm a lil disappointed - I had high hopes for this car since I was planning to get one. I do think its very Striking (Beasty Looking) but not very beautiful..Right now, with these pics - I'm having a hard time comprehending the side vent on the car.. and after looking at the photo for a few mins - Is it me or does the front clip seems disportionate to the rest of the body (seems longer) compare to the IS350.. but then again they did squeeze a 5.0L V8 in there...Kudos for Lexus - though I reserve my judgement til I see the car in person..

my thoughts:
engine: adequate hp, good tq seeing as how it will undoubtedly go up against the RS4 and M3. hopefully there will be further tuning options available. because the chassis of the IS seems so well sorted out, i expect the car to be quicker than 400hp would suggest though. especially with that much tq and a 8spd tranny.
tranny: should be good enough to do battle with its competition. although dsg will likely remain faster, this will probably be the smoothest of the 3. you cant argue with 8 gears shifting that fast and i dont doubt lexus have done their homework on making this transmission a good one.
brakes/suspension: cant see any fault here.... we know this car's been tuned on the ring. i expect it to be very good on these fronts. i havent driven an IS in any truly sporting fashion though so i cant comment much here.
body: beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
price: im looking for a $10k premium on the is350. while that may not sound like much, you really arent getting all that much more here... and i dont think Lexus will price it up with where the new M3 will likely be, much less the RS4. note that by 'only' adding $10k to the is350, its price point should be competitive with its competition- and even sway over some who might have otherwise gotten a 335i.

please let that front bumper never make production...it looks like a sentra spec-v bumper
other than that, its descent--i still think our expectations for this car wasnt met (completely that is), but then again it is the first step in a sports division for Lexus so i congratualte them for that

I actually like the look. Good for Lexus for being gutsy enough to release it like that. I do worry about the engine and transmission though; 400/350 from a 5.0L V8 that does 0-60 in 4.9s is *probably* going to have a hard time keeping up with the likes of M3's and RS4's; but who can say until someone drives it? I'm more interested in what they did to the suspension.
Of course if they just price it lower to compete with S4's and 335i's they can make a case for it on power, we will have to see on the rest though.
