Default IS-F or IS500?

I was wondering what other members of the forum think. I personally think the design of the F part of the logo is pretty bad and would rather have had the model named 500 instead. Plus F just seems too much related to Failure. Tho IS-F seems like a great combination. I guess it's just the design of that F part I hate. What do u guys think?

I'm not crazy about the logo, I think it's kind of funky.... but I don't care enough to do anything about it. As to Failure, I'll go w/ Fast or Fun or Furious.

Here's a closer-up of the logo:

The logo is already finalized and registered as a trademark, it's not going to change anytime soon.

"F" is not the best letter in the alphabet to choose.

I can see many magazines using "F stands for..." titles and the such, and it's gonna get overplayed.

I think Lexus did need something other than engine size to tell consumers that this is a completely different beast.

Perhaps a word would have been better than a letter.

I could have gone for "Formula IS" or "IS Testosterone" or something, whatever...

Those particular words are too long and the Testosterone one is borderline very immature sounding. They should have the connotation of speed and should be short because of that.

I think "F1" sounds very good - it is short and sweet. Kinda like the M in BMW and AMG in MB.

Well that's that I guess. None the less the car looks great. IS-F altogether sounds aggressive just the F's design I'm not crazy about. That's all

The basic idea of "F" sounds good to me. Rather than just making is a 500. It raises the point that its not just a normal car.

I think the ‘F’ works OK considering the car is a performance focused rather than luxury….better in my opinion than IS500, but also maybe just too much like ‘M’ and BMW. I also do not think ‘F’ is any indication of Failure but rather F...... Fast. Years ago I had an Adcom GFA 555 amp in a home Hi Fi system and the designer stated in an audio magazine article that they came to GFA when finally finishing the design of the amp and it stood for Great F…… Amp.
