Stated above but once again irrelevant to the thread. OC, what do you do for a living?

To get back on topic...

If had to choose(I wish...but am too poor), I'd go with the M3.

The IS-F looks like an IS that Lexus left in the rice cooker for too long.

I'm a Systems Admin (IT).

back on track. I think if I had the choice I'd go for the M3 with a manual.

We have waited 18 years for something like this from Lexus, of course I'm going for the IS-F.
If the M3 looked decent, it would be a consideration. It lost all the classic looks of the E46. If I want bulges and craziness, might as well get the IS-F. Better interior, more reliable, I am more than willing to lose .03 in the slalom and some steering feel.

However, I already have in my mind getting a used E93 M3 b/c the thought of a coupe +V-8= big *** ****.

I'd probably jump on an IS-F for the exclusivity. Something different and definitely will be much more refined. I'll take an IS-F in starfire/black interior please thank you.

I love the IS-F interior...but I want a coupe. Thus I convinced the woman to trade in her sc430 for the IS-F (wasn't that hard since she wants something faster anyway) & the M3 will be my weekend toy/track $lut. We're in for the IS-F but a little reluctant w/the M3 due to the interior being rather mcnasty (Can you say cheap plastic interior?!?). If the e92 M3 interior was remotely close to the e46 M3 interior then I'd feel much more at ease. Also for roughly the same price of an M3, you can get a base/V-Spec GT-R probably (assuming the Nissan $tealership doesn't charge over MSRP).

Hopefully both vehicles will live up to the hype & then some...

You bring up an interesting question. How many IS-Fs does Lexus intend to produce vs. M3s? Lexus doesn't have a problem with moving cars, as long as many are produced, you will see many of them out there.

Rumored to only produce 1000. It is true having an m3 is like having an esco they will appear on every corner even if it comes out too be the better machine. I always can sacrifice salom times to be more exclusive.

Don't get me wrong,I love the new e92 m3. But,If you go over to the e92post and bimmerforums board, you'll notice alot of people have put down their 1g deposit on the new m3. So much for exclusivity.
