What will be the IS-F hp?

All I know if the car don't have over 415hp they can keep it. Like someone said earlier don't bring a knife to a gun fight. Lexus know what people want so they shouldn't b.s. around. It will never out handle a M3 so they should bring more hp/torque. It's not going to have more hp/torque than AMG so it should outhandle it.

Prior to my test-drive of the new LS600h L on Sept. 15 Lexus Germany confirmed to me that the Lexus IS-F will have exactly 425 HP and 475 nm of torque (0-60 in 4.5). For comparison the BMW M3 has 420 HP and 400 nm (0-60 in 4.8), the Audi RS4 has also 420 HP and 430 nm (0-60 in 4.8), Mercedes C63 AMG has 457 HP and 600 nm of torque (0-60 in 4.5 ) out of its 6.2 L V8.
So i think Lexus did quite a good job with the IS-F i will find out in February

1. Lexus Germany made a mistake.
2. Lexus Germany lied to you.
3. Lexus Germany were fed incorrect information.
4. You are mistaken about what Lexus Germany confirmed to you.
5. You are lying to us.
Unless detuned, a current generation high performance motor is not going to have less than 98-100Nm/litre. Therefore, in the case of the IS-F, a yet-to-be-released high performance 5-litre motor is not going to have less than 490Nm. Considering the IS350 and LS460 motors achieve 107Nm/litre and 108Nm/litre respectively, there is no reason for the IS-F's engine to suddenly manage only 95Nm/litre. Furthermore, it is ludicrous to posit that the smaller capacity and more refined engine used in the LS460 will have more torque than the IS-F lump.

The redline is a dead give away of how many HP with the IS-F have.
How???
Well, the redline is at 6800 rpm. So if you look at the displacement being 5.0 Liter V8 and torque being over 350 ft-lbs tells it is a fairly square block with bore and stroke very close to each (not exactly square, but close.).
That means it is not a 100 HP/Liter engine like the very short stroked V8s M3 or the RS4 are sporting (Both well over 100 HP/liter). Since a 100 HP/Liter engine with a short stroke than bore must have a redline over 7800 rpm in order to make the full power especially in the case of a V8 where you need much higher revs to get close to 100 HP/Liter (as oppposed to a 4 banger).
As a matter of fact, having a 6800 rpm tells, the power will be under 450 HP because it is not stroked very short. Most likely between 425 - 435 HP.
What do I mean by short stroke? well, if the Lexus IS-F was short stroked, it will be making around 500 HP from the 5.0 Liter V8, have a redline over 8200 rpm (atleast) and put around 310 - 320 ft-lbs of torque instead of 350 ft-lbs.

The 2UR bore and stroke are well known. It's 94.0mm × 89.5mm (3.70" × 3.52") straight from TIS. So it isn't a square engine by any means. However, it is a relatively long stroke, so it is limited to about 6700 rpm before it hits the magic 20 m/sec mean piston speed. 6800 is actually new territory for Toyota.
If they expected to use a different bore and stroke, they would not call it the 2UR-GSE, it would have a different number - like the 2GR/3GR/4GR family of engines.

If you re-read what I wrote, I said it is "not exactly square, but fairly close".
If you calculate the bore-to-stroke ratio, you will see it is quite close, but yes not square.

hmm what you say makes sense but Lexus told me so I'm trying to get that clear on my first IS service this weekend
Edit: Got the new Lexus Magazine today and it says over 400 HP and over 500 nm of torque. More: 0-60 in 4.9 and speed limiter at 270 kph.
