I've dynoed a few automatic vehicles and have NEVER had a loss of 20-25% Even my old 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix only had a 17% driveline loss and I doubt efficiency has gotten worse over the years.

Grand Prix are FWD so I don't think we will see that much of a drivetrain loss. 20-25% usually applies to RWD platforms.

I believe the IS-F will be able to put down over 350 hp to the wheels. I would guesstimate about a 17% loss for the automatic. That 8 speed transmission may be suprisingly good so we will just have to wait and see.

The IS-F will be competitive in hp, torque and handling. The tranny is the performance component where Lexus has the opportunity to establish a new benchmark for sport automatics and gain an edge on its 3 German rivals. If the gear box lives up to the preliminary specs and hype, it may even convert a few die hard 3 peddle jockeys to the modern automotive era.

Yes, there is a Torsen limited slip available for the IS250 RWD.
Is that for both U.S. and Canadian models?

I've had my IS350 dyno'd also, and it had identical driveline loss... 16-17%

Not sure where you're getting your numbers from, have you ACTUALLY dyno'd a RWD vehcile and actually seen a 25% driveline loss? To me it sounds like people simply repeating what they heard or read becuase I've been to plenty dyno sessions with RWD and FWD vehicles in additoin to having my very own FWD and RWD vehicles dyno'd and never seen a 25% driveline loss. Maybe whoever told you that had their ebrake engaged?

Newest automatics have partial or full lock up in every gear. With full lock up you now have a direct connection between the flywheel and trans input speed. No more T/C losses.

BMW came out with their new automatic for the 335i with 100ms shifts. It is pretty darn good, also blips with downshifts.
