Its about time...but kind of a let down in terms of horse power. Can't believe a 5.0 liter engine puts less HP compared to the M3's 4.0...what is up with Lexus?

I am not a neither japanese nor chinese but I can read some of their characters. The blog said "max power is OVER 415" and "max torque is OVER 51kgm".

Class leading with 409hps??? my ****!

Thanks for posting.

But I honestly hope that 409hps is not true. That would be a big let down from 5.0L displacement when BMW is yanking 414hps from l one liter less.

The weight & redline is believable but the hp & tq #'s can't be accurate considering the 4.6L motor in the LS 460 (same engine series/architecture right?) has 367 ft-lbs which is 0.4L (400 cc) smaller. My educated guess is more than 414 hp but less than 438 hp (don't wanna **** off those people that spent $110K+ on the LS 600h L ) & around 375-380 ft-lbs.

Can anyone confirm the blog says "max power & torque is over"? I clicked on that link & it wasn't working for me.

I highly doubt the HP/TQ figures are correct! Unless Lexus really did something stupid.

According to my detailed calculations using a program which I made with given dimensions as input, I am getting peak around 429.84HP @ ~6400-6500RPM and around 376ft-lb @ 4800-5000RPM.

I also did IS250 and IS350 HP/TQ graphs and compared it to the actual engine dyno numbers and my calculations were off by few percent (i.e. ~5%). However, the numbers above take into account this percent difference.

BUT, you can never be certain as there are many things that Lexus can do to not take full advantage of the engine. .

Those are NOT official numbers. For one thing, the HP and torque numbers are wrong. Just by that, I would question all the other specs. We already know for a fact that HP will be over 414HP and torque will be over 370 lb-ft.

And to the OP, how is this "official complete" specs? Are these specs directly from Lexus? Is this a Lexus press release? Mods please change the thread title to speculated specs.

Keep in mind the ports and valves on this one are different than anything we've seen in awhile. The heads have a G designation, so comparing this to the F heads may be off a few percentage points as well especially at peak. I'm still sticking with the 432 I heard from my reliable source.

Yeah, my educated guess says it'll probably be around 435-440HP @ 6000+RPM. And I doubt OP's numbers are from reliable sources.

Looking at the translation, looks like starfree is correct. It does in fact say over 415HP and over 368 lb-ft torque.
