Default Guess your IS-F 0-60 time

Being that the car will have 400-430 hp it wouldn't even be special if the car had a 0-60 time of 4.3-4.5 which are numbers achieved by earlier model cars such as the Audi RS4 (420 hp) and Cadillac CTS-V (400 hp). So in order for this car to even make a statement this car would have to acheive at least 4.1-4.2 which is M5,6 territory. Or is Lexus just creating this F line for an image? I seriously doubt this car will blow away the RS4's numbers which it will have to if it wants to make a statment. what do you think?

When has the CTS-V or RS4 ever achieved a 0 - 60 lower than 4.5s? Do you have any links or proof?

My vote is that the IS-F will achieve between 4.5 - 4.2s but Lexus could surprise us.

Isn't that list a little demanding?

I think it will do around 4.7 as per the "official" Manufacturers specs, but will actually do around 4.5 regularly and be capable of 4.3 as a best effort.

I'm hoping for 4.3 - 4.5 range, so that's my guess! With the rear tires Lexus is putting on the IS-F, anything lower than that is not going to be possible without better traction.

Dumbest poll ever.

Depends on temperature, barometric pressure, fuel, traction.....always a little different from day to day.

What's so sacred about 60mph? 50 - 90 mph much more meaningful for highway passing.

We can thank Tom Cahill for the 0-60 mph time obsession.

As well as all car magazines...

It's not dumb to think about 0-60. It's a marker; a fact; a "deal breaker." Just like any other option of the IS, whether it's 400+hp or leather seats or child safety restraints, little small things can be a deal breaker. For many enthusiasts, 0-60 is a factor in choosing between an IS-f or M3 or RS4...

It isn't dumb. It's marketing at its best.

Maybe for a few at best. It would be very naive to think most enthusiasts will think 0-60 mph defines significant performance while dishing out those huge $$$$$ amounts. Everyone knows, German cars did not become proclaimed "ultimate driving machines" on 0-60 mph numbers. It only tells how steep the car is geared in the first two gears. Otherwise, AWD cars would be the best performing cars.

For most of the luxo sports car enthusiasts, alongwith luxury and refinement, it is about quartermile (400)m , 0 - 200 KM/H, how well the car handles i.e. is the suspension and chasis harmonious with the engine power or the back end slides around all over the place, how well the car communicates back to the driver (essentially feel of a sports car), how much control you have on the engine power and transmission, how "sporty" exhilarating and indulging the car is when driven to it's limits etc.

I hope you are nit basing your reason on HPs alone, weight is the factor which will play a big role in the car's performance.

Also, the M5/6 has times of 4.6 where i come from (that's 0-100km/hr or 0-62mph). RS4s are also 4.6s.

I voted 4.7+ for the IS-F.
