Second, here's the conversion for ya:

Base Japanese IS350: 4,800,000Yen (before sales tax) = 41,347 USD
Base US IS350: 35,905 USD

67,000 x (35,905 / 41,347) = 58,182

So if Lexus is consistent with its pricing the base IS-F in US should have a MSRP around $58K.
~$58K base price in the U.S. sounds about right (though not cheap , not as low as some had hoped), given they are pricing the Neiman Marcus Edition at $68K . . .

Called the my salesman at the dealership and asked if he could shed any light on the price. He told me the price has not been released for US yet but he was told yesterday by mgnt. that it would be over 60k.I told him about the 67k in jp. and after a laugh he said " i don`t think 67k will be the starting price. And to plan on the pricing to follow close to the LS460" this would mean low 60`s and up.

As you guys know, historically, JDM price is "slightly (~8-10%??)" higher than that of US.

By the way, here is a choppy translation of the price info. (from lexus.jp). Unfortunately, this version of IS-F (7660000Y) doesn't seem to be so loaded.

MSRP (seems to mean 'base price'): 7,660,000

Maker option:
19inch forged alloy (BBS, polished):87150
Pre-collision system (1-10mm wave)+radar cruise control:273000
Moon roof (Tilt and slide):94500
Park assist:42000
Mark Levinson: 283500
Option for cold area:16800

We don't know what the "full package" from the IS-F consists of. We're just finding out about the power (still some questions there) and we don't know about the price.

I didn't put the M3 up on a pedestal. The M3 is the target that all others (manufacturers and car magazines) shoot for. It's the gold standard in the class. The question about the IS-F has always been, "will Lexus make a car that can actually compete with the M3 in terms of performance?" That question has yet to be answered.

If Lexus comes close at the right price point, great. They offer a high-level of quality, vehicles with many creature comforts and good technology. They're a proven entity but not in terms of performance. Not yet. The jury is still out.
That's fair...point well taken!

Fully loaded: $63k

Those would be reasonable numbers for the IS-F, but that is just me.

I would be shocked if, we could get the IS-F fully loaded for $57k. Honestly, that would probably put a nice dent in the M3 and RS4 sales.

Okay, Lexus does this and there stupid....we all know this, they wont sell like they want because:
1. The M3 is cheaper and every magazine is gonna call it a better care in the firtst place
2. The c63 is gonna be slightly cheaper and at least its a Mercedes not a toyota
3. To be honest and not to burst anyones bubble, but the fact is no matter what lexus does to this IS, it will never, ever handle like the BMW for all of us that have had the chance to own a Lexus, BMW, and Benz in our lives we know that ultimatly the Beemer will have us in handling......

I like the idea of an 8 speed semi auto with 4 doors so I can pay attention to the bombshell in my passenger seat....however I gotta draw the line somewhere, I want he Lexus but for that price Ill get into a 6 coupe or something else....70K for an IS thats all hooked up...I had a C32 amg this car cant be too much better than my benz and for this much $$$$ Lexus is on drugs....period....they are just not gonna get my money I am too damn smart to give them that much

The bottom line is, the IS-F will not be more expensive than both the M3 and C63. That'll be marketing suicide and Lexus is way smarter than that. Rumor has it that the base C63 will be hitting the high $60K and base M3 will be at least over $60K.

60K OTD was more of a guess work from me

Base IS-350 : $35,905.00

So I guessed Base IS-F :$51,000

Nav Upgrade as per SURVEY conducted: $5,000

Tax + Title and all crap fees : : $4,000
====================================

Total : $60,000 OTD

The GT-R will be a beast for sure. However, I seem to recall the price of admission is $70,000+. These are entirely different class of cars. The GT-R gunning for the 911 Turbo and the IS-F gunning for the M3 (although Lexus denies it). However you slice it, the Lexus still exudes luxury. Also, there is NO WAY that any Nissan dealer will be selling the GT-R for anything near MSRP, expect a serious mark up. Nissan do not have same dealer rules against mark up.

I have been waiting for the IS-F for about 8 months now ever since my IS350 got wrecked and only willing to pay a fully loaded IS-F for $60K OTD.

Eh!??! Step outside, the IS300/Altezza would like to have a few words with you.

p.s. A car is worth as much as you are willing to pay for it.

Anyway, people, get a hold of yourselves. This car will NOT cost this much in the US, not base, not loaded.

I completely agree... It is not worth trading my IS350 in at this price and HP. If they were giving it 457+ HP it might be worth 62K. This should be priced no higher than base 49,995 then add the options. It needs to be priced atleast 10K less than the M3 to be competitive. Although, I think Lexus will sell the 6000. It looks like they won't get my sale... There should be a poll out to track how many people are pulling their deposit based on the price and engine specs.
