Default So you get an IS-F....

WTF do you do to get rid of those those exhaust tips and the huge gap in the bumper. For the 1st time, reverse engineering, an IS bumper on an IS-F!

I think it looks alright...I mean it's different...Pretty sure some people don't like the Porsche 911 GT3 with the single exhaust in the middle or any other cars that have unconvential exhaust setups...just depends on preference.

Maybe I'd just keep it as it is because I like it AND it's pretty original?

Keep in mind those chrome tips are just a comestic thing. Im ok with how it looks, it is better than horizontal quad tips like the M series. I wonder who will slap on an aftermarket exhaust....

Yeah, you're right. If I could afford one, I probably would get used to it!

The question is what do YOU do to get rid of the stuff you don't like.

I hope you and others who make changes to your brand new cars make changes for the better because not all mods improve performance. Some air intakes don't work any better than stock and removing the stock airbox is not usually a good idea since very often they can't be put back to stock without a lot of expense and work. Exhaust systems often cause more noise (inside the car) and don't necessarily add performance (or much performance) for the buck.

Of course cosmetic changes are an individual preference that doesn't necessarily impact performance or warranty.

I wonder how many IS-F buyers will make performance (engine) mods due to the cost of the car.

Personally, I'd go with handling improvements once it can be verified that the mods do actually improve. Another area I think can benefit from change is the brakes. Many cars don't have excellent brakes and with speed comes the need for great braking (fade-free). Few people seem to make better braking a priority but once you've driven a car with awesome brakes you'll never want to be without them.

It's to be determined just how good the brakes on the IS-F really are.

Rather large diameter 6 and 2 pot Brembo's will probably do the job. Probably steel braided lines, if they are not already being used, Royal Purple and different pads would be the extent of my brake mods.

no a ricer would jsut get those really big and loud ones on a v-4 engine...this is something more intricate... you ppl need to accept change.... its just like those ppl who complain about how cars today are uglier...and like those old looking cars... and whatnot are the nice looking ones

i think the exhaust looks fine. people were b*tching about how the tips werent connected to the actual exhaust. yet they fail to understand that even on bentleys this is the case. theres only one car with an exhaust system that is absolutely awesome and different. that would be the z06 exhaust with butterfly valves.
